Former House Speaker Paul Ryan, one of the most infamous Congressional RINOs in recent memory, wants Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as the Republican presidential candidate in 2024.
NEW: The GOP 2024 nominee will be "someone other than Donald Trump," said former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan at a closed conference in New York Wednesday afternoon.
According to a recording of his talk, he named DeSantis, Youngkin, and Tim Scott as his three favorites.

Ryan remarked that DeSantis’ tough talk against Disney was “really good for him, from a political perspective,” and that the American Conservative Union is adopting more aggressive posturing against “woke corporations like Walmart” in the years to come.
Other prominent Never Trumpers, neocons and RINOs have suggested that they would be fine with a DeSantis presidential nomination as well:
Others disagree, but in my opinion, a DeSantis GOP nomination in 2024 represented a much better outcome for the whole country than a Trump return. Maybe you don't like DeSantis's manner or record, but he's a recognizably normal US politician. If defeated, he'd go peacefully. 9/x

Can’t wait to watch Biden and DeSantis in a presidential debate. https://t.co/paBF0naP0y

DeSantis should run. So should Pence, Pompeo, Haley, Cotton, Tim Scott, Sununu, Hogan, etc. Credible Republicans with governing experience should challenge Trump. There’s zero reason to nominate Trump again when R’s have a bench & Biden is polling in the 30s. https://t.co/lAWxtq9MjD

Big League Politics has reported on how much of DeSantis’ populist posturing has resulted in little actual success in Florida as the courts overturn his proposed reforms:
“Key provisions of Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’ legislation against wokeness in the workplace have been struck down by a federal court.
Chief U.S. District Judge Mark Walker blocked the “Stop WOKE Act,” claiming that institutional anti-white racism in the workplace is protected by the 1st Amendment.
“If Florida truly believes we live in a post-racial society, then let it make its case,” Walker wrote. “But it cannot win the argument by muzzling its opponents. Because, without justification, the [law] attacks ideas, not conduct, Plaintiffs are substantially likely to succeed on the merits of this lawsuit.”
The law had banned the teaching of critical race theory in the workplace. It banned any teachings or trainings indicating that any “individual, by virtue of his or her race, color, sex, or national origin, bears personal responsibility for and must feel guilt, anguish, or other forms of psychological distress because of actions, in which the individual played no part, committed in the past by other members of the same race, color, sex, or national origin.”
Even though the Never Trumpers are demanding for DeSantis to be the 2024 Republican presidential nominee instead of Trump, there does not seem to be much support for this notion among the grassroots America First base.
Poll after poll has shown Trump crushing DeSantis in terms of nationwide support from Republican voters:

DeSantis must be prudent and not allow Never Trumpers and other interlopers get into his ear and convince him to run for the presidency. His time will come, but Trump has to avenge the stolen election and demonstrate the art of the political comeback in 2024.
This is what they GOP thinks is the most important thing about a candidate, being graceful in defeat. They do not want to win, they do not want to govern, they just want to be the pretend alternative to the democrats.
I like DeSantis. I’d be happy with either Trump or DeSantis becoming President in 2024. Hell, I’d be happy with a blind, retarded monkey over our current vegetable. What I would not be happy with is a bunch of people getting pissed off that Trump didn’t win the nomination and staying home out of petulance. A Trump loss in the primaries would touch off a civil war in the Republican party, and we could very well wind up with another Communist running the country. Plenty of Republican voters out there willing to cut off their nose to spite their face.
Paul Ryan, the RINO with the little head and a big mouth
A Biden/DeSantis debate? The “pundits” (or as they think of themselves - influencers) are so out of touch. No way, no how Biden runs in 2024.
Just in!
Trump on Paul Ryan:

That endorsement counts as a strike against DeSantis.
Not a knock out blow, but a strike.
Other prominent Never Trumpers, neocons and RINOs have suggested that they would be fine with a DeSantis presidential nomination as well:That says all I need to know about DeSantis.
That's a no for me.
Florida here....and NO! Ryan knows that if DeSantis runs for prez instead of staying on as the best governor in this country, Florida may be lost in the next go around. Remember, DeSantis just barely squeaked by against the drug-addled dem last time. Of course Ryan knows that and as DeSantis doesn’t have the name recognition that Trump has around the rest of the country and may well not succeed running for Prez TOO soon on top of leaving Florida without a great governor, backstabber Ryan would be killing two great politicians with one stab. That is, of course, his intention. DON’T DO IT!
From Ryan, I take it more as an anti-Trump thing than a pro deSantis.
DeSantis isn’t running in 2024 ... what is Ryan’s motive here?
Is ryan purposely trying to destroy DeSantis’s chances in 2024?
DeSantis worries me...seems susceptable to the rino virus. Having Ryan back him doesn’t help with that concern.
There’s a world of difference between flexing your conservative chops as governor vs. POTUS. We’ve been burnt many times before. The republican party is littered with rotting rinos that were once hopeful candidates.
Trump is the only republican president that stayed true to the conservative movement. He’s already proven that, which is why I’m baffled over the noodle-spined “conservatives” on this site that get the vapors over the thought of him being the 2024 nominee.
Ok, it would mean he’s in agreement with those two or sees things the same way they do. It’s a strong warning sign. I’m done with traitorous Repuke Policians. Notice they aren’t suggesting Kari Lake but they are very comfortable with DeSantis who is just basking in their praise. As of now I give him the benefit of the doubt. If he follows their advice (or comes to the same conclusion as them) all doubt will be removed and he’ll be just another Repuke politician.
Positive, negative, or neutral - put no importance whatsoever on anything Ryan says. Or Romney. Or Graham. Or any of them.
his 3 choices don’t even come close to Trump in the level of support combined. No to Scott, No to Haley. DeSantis is fine if Trump decides not to run.
” PAUL RYAN WANTS DESANTIS TO RUN... “
~~~~
Sure he does.
The Establishment knows their own. (See MIL picks; GHWB, Dole, McCain, then Romney the Righteous)
No One anywhere fears any Republican ticket, but Trump.
These people are crafty with their psyops.
It seems to work for a few around here. 🙄
Hope DeSantis stays far away from Ryan, Pence etc.
That Ryan supports DeSantis should be a red flag for conservatives. Would Ryan support anyone that isn’t aligned with the GOP establishment?
So, Ryan coming out and supporting DeSantis doesn’t raise questions about whether he’d capitulate to the GOP establishment?
