South African President Cyril Ramaphosa held a two-day summit with Saudi Arabia on mostly economic matters. At the conclusion of the summit, he confirmed the intent of Saudi Arabia to join the BRICS economic coalition, which should not come as a surprise given the previous statements by Saudi leader and Crown Prince Mohamed Bin Salman (MbS).

You are absolutely correct in your description of the US/Saudi relationship until the globalist coup in the US. The Saudis are the same, they have been a constant for 300 years. America is now unrecognizable from itself three years ago. The Saudis have witnessed another unprovoked application of massive American military power 5000 miles away from the US. The Saudis know the truth about 9/11 and the American twenty year campaign in Iraq and Afghanistan. The Saudis might be in the dark as much as we are regarding whose in charge in DC but they know the individual politicians. They have owned a majority of the DC denizens since FOREVER. They saw something this spring that crap down the leg terrified them. The total mobilization of a majority of the world’s economic might used in conjunction with a massive NATO military assault to attempt to totally destroy Russia got their attention. Again, unprovoked attempt to destroy Russia. The US doesn’t like the way the Russians treat the Uke ethnic majority in Donbas, Boom, total economic war! The Saudis understand how vulnerable their totally corrupt, totally anti woke monarchy is to American pressure. How fast would the House of Saud’s $1.5T disappear under such an attack? Guess that I miss the “either-or” with regard to Sharia. As I remember the US 50 years ago, we sure as hell had elements of Sharia - such as no tolerance for Drag Queen Parades, and schools that WERE NOT trying to Groom kids to be gay...didn’t mean we were a Sharia country. So what’s the harm in simply returning to that, when we didn’t allow a tiny Leftist fringe to run our entire social policy?

You’re welcome, but it’s still worth engaging. Remember that many here have personal agendas and think they are the God-given expert in their field (such as “I served in Vietnam, therefore I’m an expert on military policy for the entire country”). I like engaging them as they usually throw out definitive statements that they CANNOT back up (such as Putin wants to reconstitute the Soviet Union)...so I call them out on it, and they, of course attack me for calling them out.
