President Donald Trump has responded after the Democrats’ Jan. 6 Committee officially issued a subpoena for him to testify before Congress.
Trump has reportedly said that he will accept the subpoena and is happy to testify, provided he can do it on live TV.
According to reports, Trump will agree to testify but doesn’t want the Democrats and their allies in the media to selectively edit his video testimony to make him look bad.
NYT correspondent Michael Schmidt said: “Since it became public that the House select committee planned to subpoena Trump for his testimony, the former president has been telling aides he favors doing so, so long as he gets to do so live, according to a person familiar with his discussions.”
New York Times reporter Maggie Haberman, who has long-term cooperation with Trump, told CNN’s Jake Tapper:
“In terms of the subpoena, for him, that is actually one of the things that has animated him.
“He’s been talking to advisers about how, you know, he would consider testifying if they would air it live, which is also not surprising…it seems hard to imagine the committee would go for that.”

Burgess Meredith plays a man who loves books and traditional morality, who is sentenced to death by a totalitarian government for being an “Obsolete man”. He agrees to his death only if it is broadcast on live TV. The government agrees, thinking that it will be good propaganda.
BUT, it backfires on them bigly.
We watched it on SciFi during Christmas until we cut cable. Amazon has it on DVD for a good price - our discs were flawless.
LOL...you’re RIGHT!
such a good episode. I’m going to rewatch today
I cut the cable too, just last month!
Hoo-Rah!
So far, the Truth has been on Trump’s side, so I expect he will win this one way or another. If he testifies live, he wins, and if they don’t want him to do it live, then he also wins. The jig is up J-6!!
Jan 2.
The last day for Lizard.
Smart move by PDJT!
If you’ve got Decades TV network, they run marathons of Twilight Zone on such holidays as Thanksgiving or Independence Day.
1. Don’t go under oath.
I don’t have cable anymore. I threw the TV into the dumpster. LOL.
I suppose I can watch it on the computer.
The Chair can (and will) declare him out of order anytime he deviates from the script they want to follow. The judge and the prosecutors are the same people and will change the rules anytime it suits their purpose. I expect lots of “Answer yes or no” questions. If he pushes back, they will find him in contempt and use it as a basis for another impeachment. No way this goes well.
The only exception would be if he can use this to further expose the corruption in the Democrat prosecution against him while falling on his sword to allow someone else to benefit in their presidential run. But I don’t see him thinking that way.
thanks JT!
If they do that then they will look like fascist dictators to everyone, even their base..................
Trump needs to ask questions. “why didn’t Pelosi take up my offer to bring in National guard troops?” “why does the media continue the narrative that police officers were killed that day?” “why didn’t you call Ray Epps, (the most vocal instigator on video that day)?”
This would be a chance for Trump to EDUCATE the misinformed about things that were never allowed to be brought up during the kangaroo court.
I understand the whole perjury trap scenario but if his testimony is on live tv, (HUGE audience), and they try to nail him for some misstep or technicality in something he said...that ain’t gonna fly with American people.
I agree, but are you suggesting they haven’t looked like fascist dictators throughout this entire process?
Nobody was watching...........................
If Trump testifies live on TV, every TV in the WORLD will be on it..........................
Watch as they all of a sudden Decide it’s not as important as it was yesterday.
