The January 6 Committee has postponed the publication of their investigative report until after the 2022 midterm elections, proving their strategy to use the investigation to punish Republicans at the polls has failed.

Polling drives almost everything in DC (except climate change and higher taxes, no matter how unpopular, they will always ride those), so I would hypothesize that someone figured out the Jan.6 commit only plays to the base and hurts them with independents.
They have Two versions of report.
One to lead to indictments and another to whitewash.
They don’t know how hard they have to cheat in the 22 election and are still terrified that it will be too much cheating.
They desperately want to indict Trump, but don’t want to look TOO obvious about it, so...my guess is that they’ll throw Hunter under the bus and indict him, and that way they can indict Trump and say, “See? We’re fair and balanced, one for you and one for us!”

Well, when they have sales to a few leftist reporters and Democrats and a few rabid partisans, and it’s a total sales flop when you back out those sales, it can only be an embarrassment.
They are going to attempt to disqualify as many Republicans as necessary for them to hold majorities by claiming they participated in an “insurrection”. In other words, the committee established to complain that the Trump & Co conspired to overturn the results of the 2020 election will be used to overturn the results of the 2022 election.
I said months ago that holding those stupid January 6th committee hearings on TV while ordinary Americans are dealing with a lot of disruption in their lives was the dumbest political move they could have made.
Trump is like flypaper to them. They fly too close: they stick, and then in all th thrashing around, they rip their wings and legs off to the sticky stuff, and their bodies leak our Essential Bodily Fluids — and they die.
