Russia, Having 'Run Out Of Missiles', Launches Barrage On Ukraine
Moon of Alabama ^ | October 10, 2022

Posted on 10/10/2022 8:53:33 AM PDT by Kazan

Back in March I had warned that Lies Do Not Win Wars. Here is another practical example.

After allegedly having 'run out of missiles' and, more importantly, patience, the leadership of the Russian Federation decided to de-electrify Ukrainian cities with a 'barrage of missile strikes'.

But first came the propaganda blubber:

Then a warning:

'We Haven't Started Yet,' Putin Says in Hawkish Speech on Ukraine Invasion - Haaretz - Jul 7, 2022

President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that Russia had barely got started in Ukraine and dared the West to try to defeat it on the battlefield, while insisting that Moscow was still open to the idea of peace talks.

...

"Today we hear that they want to defeat us on the battlefield. What can you say, let them try," he said. "We have heard many times that the West wants to fight us to the last Ukrainian. This is a tragedy for the Ukrainian people, but it seems that everything is heading towards this."

... "Everyone should know that, by and large, we haven't started anything yet in earnest," he added. "At the same time, we don't reject peace talks. But those who reject them should know that the further it goes, the harder it will be for them to negotiate with us."

Russia Unleashes Biggest Barrage of Strikes on Ukraine Since Invasion - WSJ - Oct 10, 2022

Cities throughout Ukraine, including Kyiv, are bombarded after Putin slams Ukraine over Crimea bridge blast

KYIV, Ukraine—Russia carried out waves of strikes on several Ukrainian cities including the capital in the broadest and most intense onslaught since the start of the invasion, after President Vladimir Putin accused Ukraine of a “terrorist attack” on a critical bridge connecting Russia’s mainland to the occupied Crimean Peninsula.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia had carried out dozens of strikes using missiles as well as Iranian-made drones to target civilian and power infrastructure. “They want panic and chaos,” he said. “They want to destroy our energy system.”

Ukraine "under missile attack" as explosions rock Kyiv and other cities - CBSNews - Oct 10, 2022

Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy head of the president's office, said on social media Monday that, "Ukraine is under missile attack. There is information about strikes in many cities of our country."

General Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, said on Twitter that Russia had launched 75 missiles at Ukraine but that "41 of them were neutralized by our air defence."

Zelenskyy later emerged onto a street in Kyiv to record a selfie video with a message to his people and the world, denouncing Russia for the barrage of missiles which he said had targeted Ukraine's energy infrastructure, and its civilians.

Kiev, Lviv, Karkov, Dnipropetrovsk, Krivoy Rog all report damage to their electricity infrastructure.

The propaganda is an attempt to demoralize Russians make them think Russia is losing.

When Russia is shown strong taking military action the propaganda turns to demonization of the Russian military action as horrible.

Like blowing up kids' playgrounds?

A massive crater left by a Russian missile attack at a playground in Kyiv.

Drink the Kool Aid Jim Jones is burning today in a hot place over the fact that Russia isn’t Communist anymore like Jones was.

Too many living people in 2022 in high places are Cultural Marxists leading the charge against Russia in Ukraine to divide Conservatives and Patriots at Mid-Term Election time.

Well since the claim was Putin had died in March and ran out of missiles - then nobody can blame Russia for the bombing in Ukraine....right?

"Another blog now serves as base for Billmon's followers: Moon of Alabama."

Given that "Billmon" appeared to vacate the Internet well before 2008, it's fair to say that "Moon of Alabama" no longer exists solely to discuss their work (especially since searching for his name shows that as late as 2014, some of the posters are talking about how most of the people from the billmon/Whiskey Bar days are no more).

It would be sort of akin to treating Free Republic as though it hasn't changed since the Bush years, where people would get regularly zotted if they dared to question the Administration or GW's conservative bonafides. Now you can barely run across a Freeper who runs just shy of cursing his name for any number of reasons (whether it be Afghanistan, Iraq, illegal immigration, 'compassionate conservatism', and so forth).

shows how truly weak the russkie military is when the only response they can muster is to deliberately launch terrorist attacks on civilians for “revenge” ...

hitler did exactly this to the U.K. in WWII and for the same reasons: impotent to invade ... in both cases, it’s simply a showcase of what the civilian population could expect should they actually be conquered by a despotic and cruel dictatorship: a bootheel permanently on the neck ...

So a couple of days ago, I ASKED about WHETHER Russia’s missile attacks on Ukraine actually in any way contradicted claims Russia was running out of guided missiles. I was met with an incoherent rage that accused me of being a liar. How dare I ask a question when the answer could make the glorious leader of Russia look bad.

Well, it turns out that the missiles rained down on residential neighborhoods. This means that yes, they Russians are absolutely out of precision missiles or they never had any intention of doing anything more than murder innocent civilians. Both are almost certainly true, in fact.

Oh, wow. Russian-released footage of them managing to destroy a single Ukrainian APC. That makes me think so much more highly of you and clearly disproves my notion that no Ukrainians have been harmed during the filming of this war.

On at least three separate occasions in the months of March, April, and May, Russian propaganda told us that all Ukrainian equipment in army and air force, had been destroyed…obviously, it hadn’t been. And if Putin must destroy everything over and over again…that means putin lied, over and over again.

Russia told us the Moskva was fine. It just had a little fire is all, and all sailors were safe and sound. Nothing to see here. Everything is fine…it wasn’t fine. The Moskva sank.

Russian propaganda is now trying to explain how they could possibly be losing to the Ukrainians after convincing the Russian public that Ukrainians were cowards and the special military operation would be over in weeks, not years
