Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine (D) announced Tuesday morning that he will vote against a motion to begin debate on Sen. Joe Manchin’s (D-W.Va.) permitting reform bill, dealing a blow to Manchin’s hopes of passing the measure.
Kaine said he will vote against a motion to proceed to a legislative vehicle that Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) plans to use to advance a short-term government funding measure and Manchin’s permitting reform legislation.

Manchin's permitting bill is a great improvement. It means the Sierra Club and the Enviro-whackos can't delay energy projects ad infinitum. They get one bite at the apple. And there is a time limit. If Manchin's permitting bill passes, it will give the green light to the Mountain Valley pipeline.
The downside of the bill is that it is part of a deal Manchin made with Schmuck Schumer to get Schumer's spending bill through.
The left uses greeny lawfare to hamper energy projects. Manchin's bill cripples that lawfare.

Is this what the GOP promised to do to Manchin for his vote on BBB? Shoe Mah promised Manchin that his permit bill would be passed later on. The GOP told him that the price for his sellout would be that he gets adde later on.
Turns out the dems are doing it for them.

The word “Schaudenfraude” just might be replaced with “Manchin’d”.
That is what happened, but I still am not sure why Repubs are against it.(?) Have the Dems loaded it up with other pork? The "inflation reduction act" is in the rear view mirror in any case.
I’m not sure what Bill Gates did to threaten Manchin but it sure cut off his balls and carved out his brain.
The GOP told Manchin before he caved that they would ensure he never got the payout, a payout that would ease the potential impact of supporting that with his constituents. They are, for once, keeping their word.
Manchin is politically dead, if he wasn’t awake to that fact before, he is now.

New England and New York already piss me off. Both locales already consume natural gas imported from other locales, even though both New York and Massachusetts have access to there own natural gas resources but won't develop them.
