The late-blooming 2022 Atlantic Tropical Storm season is making up for lost time. A tropical system has developed in the Central Caribbean Sea. This storm system is forecast to threaten continental U.S. interests next week. While the tropical wave passed south of a key geographic area known as Hebert's Box #1, it will very likely pass through Hebert's Box #2. These boxes are useful as predictors of hurricanes that will strike South Florida. For more information about Hebert's Boxes, see Hebert Box. See graphic below which illustrated the Hebert's Boxes.

we may be watching same cam, I am excited to see what is is this big eyewall as it hits Ft Meyers
There’s an amazing live cam on YouTube (a LOT of live coverage on YT) in the town Ft. Myers Beach- the town- and there’s whitecaps with 8 feet of water. The debris going through is like the tsunami in Japan. Cars, desks, roofs, furniture just going by..
bridge almost under water live cam...

Yikes!
My son (grew up in MN) lives in Tampa with his girlfriend. They are riding out the storm with his girlfriends parents. They are inland in New Tampa and have plenty of food and a generator.
My ex-wife (also grew up in MN), on the other hand, is riding out the storm with her new hubby in their townhouse in a marina on the southern tip of St. Petersburg.
Stupid.
Yes, Mesonet had that Naples 112 at 1634 UTC, (EDT)1234. We got a flurry of Mesonet reports as the outer eyewall passed over various locations, but they have largely dropped off since. Batteries might keep a sensor working, but transmitters require more power to punch thru.
I had always wanted to go there from reading all the Randy Wayne White Doc Ford novels. He’s a worthy successor to John D. MacDonald, imo.
Thanks for that!
Pine Island lies between the mainland around Cape Coral and the barrier islands of Captiva, North Captiva, and Cayo Costa. It’s where you johnboat over to North Captiva from.

Many of these places won’t be the same for years if ever.
Oh no. It’s the worst infamous whiteout you see around the eyewall now. Prayers for Ft Myers!
I wasn’t watching the feed it could be underwater or it could be due to utility failures in the area.
Jeff is up again and driving around. He is being pounded.

Sadly, the old Sanibel is long gone, never to return :(
I have no idea how high the cameras mounted, but it’s getting hit by waves now.
Well they're screwed now.
Hope they have homes to come back to...
The fools are out in force. Reporters with helmets and goggles. Im watching some stream on YouTube from FoxWeather.

Wonderful memories, thanks for sharing.
