America WILL retaliate with 'a devastating strike' against Russia's Black Sea Fleet or bases in Crimea if Putin follows through on threat to use nuclear weapons in Ukraine, US Army's former European commander warns

America will retaliate with 'a devastating strike' against Russia's military if Vladimir Putin uses nuclear weapons in Ukraine, the United States Army's former European commander has warned.

Retired Lieutenant General Ben Hodges today said any response by America 'may not be nuclear' but warned that if Putin were to use nukes in Ukraine that the US could look to 'destroy the Black Sea Fleet or destroy Russian bases in Crimea'.

His comments come after the Russian premier sent shockwaves around the world, as he announced the 'partial mobilization' of his reserve military forces to continue his murderous invasion of Ukraine.

And in a chilling warning directed squarely at Western and Nato leaders, desperate despot Putin insisted he would use 'all means' necessary to defend swathes of territory seized or set to be annexed by Kremlin forces before threatening to use nuclear weapons.

'If there is a threat to the territorial integrity of our country, and in protecting our people we will certainly use all means to us - and I'm not bluffing,' he then added during his televised address to the Russian people on Wednesday morning.

Gen Hodges, who commanded the US Army in Europe between 2014 and 2018, stressed the 'possibility' of Putin ordering a nuclear strike on Ukraine was 'very unlikely'.

But he said the use of any strategic weapons of mass destruction would be met with a swift and severe reaction from President Joe Biden.

'He [Putin] knows the US will have to respond if Russia uses a nuclear weapon,' Gen Hodges told MailOnline.

'The US response may not be nuclear...but could very well be a devastating strike that could, for example, destroy the Black Sea Fleet or destroy Russian bases in Crimea.

The nuke subs have probably already left the Black Sea.

If they sent him in, the donut-bearing convoys would be 3 miles long.

You support Russia introducing nuclear war as the new normal for invading countries at peace, as a routine weapon for dictators attacking their neighbors?

“Yeah, where does he get the authority to say this?”

None needed. He’s just expressing an opinion like billions of other people. I was just highlighting the fact that his statements do not represent the U. S. government.

Putin has said himself he can’t beat NATO, but he in the next breath threatened nukes.

Then again, Russia threated all sorts of dire consequences if NATO supplied Ukraine with any jet fighters, which we eventually did, just a bit surreptitiously, and in modest numbers.

So any country that goes to the aid of Ukraine causes Russia to launch a nuclear war against humanity?

You think the world should submit?

It’s worse than that. This sort of blackmail, successful, leads to a major nuclear war in the future (and in a likely very nasty lead-up, too), no matter how you slice it. Might as well man up and face the threat now.

Anyone see the ‘camouflage wearing illegals’ climbing down the border-wall - picked up by a FOX remote? I’m guessing if someone wants to take out the US we’ll get ZERO notice.

Biden and his goons are fools.

Why would the US bomb Crimea? Just give the Ukies some more decent missiles.

Democrats needed Covid to usurp whitehouse. They need Nuclear war to win global reset. Their agenda needs one global crisis after another, be it natural, or man-made or engineered

There are volunteers from many countries fighting with the Ukrainians. Often English is used as the common language.

There was a vid about a month ago of a mixed unit engaged at the front. I could identify Ukrainian, Russian, and English. A 4th language was used too, but I couldn’t figure out what it was & there was no clear view of the speakers. (Am not an expert.) Plenty of confusion a couple times - Some of the Ukrainians’ English was pretty limited. Would have been humorous in other circumstances.

Not even remotely the same. Also Ukraine is a hundred miles upwind. And the goal was to denazify and liberate the republicans that refused to go along with the coup. You don’t free them by nuking those areas.
That is a nato/neocon propaganda story. The threat was clearly aimed at other countries that decide to directly attack Russia or Russian forces.
In other words, if NATO directly intervenes.

I’m pretty sure everyone here supports an American response if attacked

I hope it’s worth the risk for our anti soviet freedom fighters here

If we give long range missles to ukrop to lob deep inside Russia we are taking a big risk

Are the Putin is Satan crowd here good with that

I bet some are

I’m thinking Pequot and white whales now

What stupidity over something that matters to us so little

The Biden handlers have said ver batem that is not on the table

Id also point out American generals don’t make these decisions usually they

If so, the RU subs would seek refuge in the Sea of Azov.

I hope not. But in a nato national directly attacks Russian forces, or his targets inside Russia, they will probably get nuked.
