Politics makes strange bedfellows.
Word is coming in that New York’s Attorney General has rejected a settlement offer from former President Donald Trump and is preparing to sue him and one of his kids.
Trump has accused NY Attorney General Letitia James of being a racist in the past. Now, another famous politician, a Democrat nonetheless, is accusing her of being “biased” and targeting him.
A year ago, Andrew Cuomo was compelled out of the New York governor’s office after a damning report about sex harassment was filed by James.
Cuomo has now filed an attorney ethics complaint against the state AG.
The state’s Attorney Grievance Committee received Cuomo’s 48-page complaint Tuesday.
“The complaint elaborates on disagreements with James that Cuomo has previously aired, including his claims that the report was inaccurate or misleading and that James was politically biased,” according to Business Insider.
It asks for an investigation and unspecified “appropriate action” against James and two of her special deputies, former acting US Attorney Joon Kim and employment lawyer Anne Clark.
In the midst of those accusations, James is going after Trump’s family.
Donald J. Trump’s lawyers have rejected an offer from the New York attorney general’s office to settle a hotly contested civil investigation into his real estate business, paving the way for a lawsuit accusing him of fraud, according to three people familiar with the case, the New York Times is reporting.
The attorney general, Letitia James, is also considering suing at least one of Mr. Trump’s adult children, the people said. Ivanka, Eric and Donald Trump Jr. have all been senior executives at Mr. Trump’s company, the Trump Organization.
If a Trump offspring is going to be sued for fraud, it is most likely to be Eric Trump. He was at the top of the Trump Organization while Trump was president.
Tax crimes charges pending in Manhattan against the Trump Organization differ from this potential fraud case.
“AG James has been investigating the Trump Organization for lying on loan applications about the value of assets, and documents reveal that the alleged acts of fraud go back years,” the outlet continued.
No one will go to prison for a civil lawsuit, but as James’s action against the NRA demonstrates, the lawsuit can be a crippling blow to the target. If Trump loses, his business could face severe financial penalties and be banned from operating in New York state.
Trump for his part has distanced himself from liberal-run New York, moving from the state and making his permanent residence in Republican-run Florida at his Mar-a-Lago estate.
The former president also sold his historic hotel in the nation’s capital, another bastion of socialists.
“James’ office has been conducting a civil probe into the Trump Organization and its financial dealings since March 2019, which expanded to include a separate criminal investigation in May 2021. The investigation is looking into whether the Trump Organization fraudulently inflated or deflated the value of its assets on financial statements for personal gain, which the AG’s office revealed in January it had found “significant” evidence of,” Forbes reported.
The AG’s office is working in cooperation with the Manhattan District Attorney’s office, which has also been conducting a criminal probe of the Trump Organization since July 2019.
Trump himself has not yet faced any consequences in that investigation, but the Trump Organization and its longtime Chief Financial Officer Allen Weisselberg were indicted in July 2021 for alleged tax fraud.
Weisselberg has taken a plea deal confessing his guilt to all 15 charges against him, which will result in a five-month prison sentence, while the Trump Organization will face a trial in October for its alleged crimes.
Donald Trump visited Washington, D.C. over the weekend, generating wild rumors and speculation.
The former president arrived in the nation’s capital early Saturday, according to YouTuber Andrew Leydon.
In the wake of last month’s unprecedented raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, there was a lot of speculation online about the ongoing federal investigation into the former president – particularly that he had come to DC to turn himself in to federal authorities.
“Here’s Donald Trump arriving unannounced tonight at Dulles outside DC. Nobody knows why. He’s in what appear to be white golf shoes and a golf shirt. Gets into a blacked-out SUV. Very, very interesting,” Ed Greenberger tweeted along with the video.
“Something weird is going on. No one – and I mean no one – knows why Donald has arrived in DC tonight, looking disheveled in golf clothes. It could be something totally inconsequential, but something tells me it’s not,” a verified Twitter user added.
“Someone just posited he found out FBI was going to search his DC club and flew over to be there? Who knows,” they added.

Of course, the Trump haters were wrong, as usual.
“Online conspiracy theorists fancied they’d spotted a mustachioed former lawyer to the president and a campaigner known for working to overturn the election,” according to the Daily Mail.
On the left, not Ty Cobb. On the right, the real Ty Cobb.
But the fanciful thinking tickled Trump World insiders who said it was nothing quite so exciting: It was a tour of facilities as his company plans upgrades.
‘This is probably the funniest story I’ve heard in years. His family owns and operates golf courses and hotels all around the world,’ said a source familiar with the visit.
‘They visit the courses a lot.’
Trump even played golf after lunch, he added.
Who can rid the American people of this meddlesome Atty.General?
Somebody needs to sue her lard ass. Damn racist bigot.
Purely political persecution. They don’t even try to hide it.
Good observation, Henry.
not indited... sued???
This idiot NY AG is like a bad habit...
I think the AG is guilty of FRAUD!
Just a side note. A trafalgar poll from earlier this week shows Michael James (R) defeating Letitia James(D). 44-43 with the rest undecided
For fraud? That’s ludicrous. The buildings exist
If James had the goods on Donald Trump and his family, she wouldn’t have approached him with the offer of a deal.
Letitia James is not a “lsw enforcement officer.”
She an angry low IQ political kommissar and attack dog.
This biased b*tch should be removed from office.
This RAT scum has a personal vendetta against President Trump and his family.
As for the value of his real estate in New York City, since when do banks take the word of a potential borrower when considering making a loan?
The bank would use in-house appraisers or hire independent ones.
I hope some MAGA people dig up some dirt on LaTitty James.
As for “overturning the election,” that was done by the RAT party with some probable help from the RINOs in the wee morning hours of November 4, 2020.
Back in the day people said "How irrational to think you people could picture Hillary in orange prison garb and think of her in prison. Silly. And vindictive."
But this vendetta against Trump, his associates and family members is truly evil. That southern district of New York woman has despised Trump for being successful and she really does carry out "you supply the man and I'll supply the crime" in real life. (Stalin's deputy premier Beria from 1941 to 1953.)
Soros: Yes, isn't she grand?
Again, folks, we are in a civil war and the democrats favorite weapon, for now, is lawfare.
Somebody check in to this tramps personal life and enlighten the world!
There are many that need to be rid of
Very true.
One might add to lawfare the following: intimidation by the Stasi (FBI), slander and libel by the media, political corruption at the ballot box, propaganda in academia/education, Marxist infiltration of corporate boardrooms...
There are many more, but I am still in a state of early morning caffeine deprivation.
