Former Vice President Mike Pence reveals in a new book that he was angry but not afraid on Jan. 6, 2021, when rioters at the U.S. Capitol were chanting for him to be hung,
In the memoir “So Help Me God,” Pence details the anger he felt despite the threat to his life if the rioters found him.
“I was angry at what I saw, how it desecrated the seat of our democracy and dishonored the patriotism of millions of our supporters, who would never do such a thing here or anywhere else,” Pence wrote on the back cover the book, which was obtained by Axios.
“I was not afraid, but I was angry,” he said.
Pence was one of the main targets during the riot after he refused to go along with former President Trump’s idea that the vice president did not have to certify the votes of the Electoral College

The use of the word “Democracy” by the left is intentional. It is a way of shaping the conversation towards getting rid of the electoral college, which then allows the urban population centers to control election results.
As the Franklin stated: “it’s a Republic if you can keep it”
Blaspheming God even in the title.
He was angry Trump was calling out the GOP Establishment-him once again for their drop your pants and be gentle with me behavior with the democrats and media. He wasn’t afraid because he knew it wasn’t an insurrection and his people were behind most of the limited feeble foolishness that took place.
Judas got his 30 pieces of silver and the establishment got rid of Trump, so they think. If Trump passes from the scene tomorrow the GOP is in a world of hurt. Their base hates them as much as they hate their base. The have nothing but neocon warmongers and Bush leftist that they trot out with the usual set of fake promises and lies. Despite the few FR establishment butt kissers most conservatives and the base are not going to vote for that leftist trash anymore. The GOP must change and offer a real difference to voters or it will die and it will die quickly at this point in the game. First the national party will start to take huge loses and then at the state level where most of its leadership is just as cowardly and leftist as the national sellouts.
Democracy is 3 wolves and 2 sheep deciding what’s for dinner!
I am waiting for his comment about Biden’s Red/Black speech.
Crickets...
BUMP
“Pence is a very narrow-minded, in-the-box thinker.
Our nation is in an existential battle for its very soul ...”
I agree, unless it’s worse. If Pence even suspects Government instigators were responsible for the Jan 6th show, he is looking the other way. Has he condemned Biden’s FBI for going after Trump and Trump supporters as they have in recent months?
He reminds me of G.W. Bush who took the high ground while Obama trashed him at every opportunity. O.K. very ex-presidential. We have only one President, and ex-Presidents should show restraint. But then the gloves came off when Trump became President. What??
Something is going on with Bush, Pence, McCain and others, and it’s not pretty.
“Judas got himself a book deal bribe”
Video should cut from Jesus on the cross to (1st century) Judas with his book deal, then fawning interviews on T.V.
Anachronisms, Anagrams (another thread), the world is a beautiful place.
Pence wasn’t angry at early morning fraudulent ballot drop offs, at Republican poll observers being refused entry into counting stations, at voting hours being extended well past designated voting hours, at counting being halted for no reason on election night, at lies about a water main break. None of that. He was angry at a group of protestors who showed up to protest the above. I have said this a number of times but it can’t be said enough. Pence wanted Trump out of office so he wouldn’t have to run as a successor to Trump. And he thought he would have the full backing of the establishment.
I think Bush, Dick Cheney, Pence, et al, are merely establishment guys. They just can't accept that the Big Establishment for which they have spent their lives working is GONE.
They hate Trump because he is an anti-Establishment guy. They fail to see that the Establishment is overthrowing the government and creating a totalitarian state.
I think their hatred for Trump has blinded them to the Deep State Revolution.
Who is this now? Oh Benedict pence. F%^k him.
Pence sounds like a girly man, totally disconnected from the people who put him in power.
Typical US Senator.
No one likes to be shown up.
Gerald Ford was nominated in 1976 because “it was his turn.” Hillary received the nomination, and was supposed to receive the Presidency, because “it was her turn.”
Donald Trump was, and is, an outsider.
Ford was nominated in 1976 primarily because he was already president.
The GOPe then hated Reagan every bit as much as they hate Trump now.
Yes, but I don’t think it was as intense as it is toward Trump.
I never heard a single person say ‘Vote for Ford! It’s his turn!’. The reasons I heard was ‘Vote for Ford because Carter’s an idiot!’. History proved that judgement correct. Also I heard ‘Vote for Ford! He’s the Incumbent, that means he’ll win!’. A judgement proved wrong by history.
You are correct.
I’ve read that Reagan gave a great speech at the convention. Perhaps some wondered if the wrong man was the nominee. But of course, you have to go with the incumbent President.
