Ukraine War Is Depleting U.S. Ammunition Stockpiles, Sparking Pentagon Concern

WASHINGTON—The war in Ukraine has depleted American stocks of some types of ammunition and the Pentagon has been slow to replenish its arsenal, sparking concerns among U.S. officials that American military readiness could be jeopardized by the shortage.

The U.S. has during the past six months supplied Ukraine with 16 U.S. rocket launchers, known as Himars, thousands of guns, drones, missiles and other equipment. Much of that, including ammunition, has come directly from U.S. inventory, depleting stockpiles intended for unexpected threats, defense officials say.

One of the most lethal weapons the Pentagon has sent are howitzers that fire high-explosive 155mm ammunition weighing about 100 pounds each and able to accurately hit targets dozens of miles away. As of Aug. 24, the U.S. military said it had provided Ukraine with up to 806,000 rounds of 155mm ammunition. The U.S. military has declined to say how many rounds it had at the start of the year.

In recent weeks, the level of 155mm combat rounds in U.S. military storage have become “uncomfortably low,” one defense official said. The levels aren’t yet critical because the U.S. isn’t engaged in any major military conflict, the official added. “It is not at the level we would like to go into combat,” the defense official said.

The U.S. military used a howitzer as recently as last week to strike at Iranian-backed groups in Syria, and the depletion of 155mm ammunition is increasingly concerning for a military that seeks to plan for any scenario.

The Army said the military is now conducting “an ammunitions industrial base deep dive” to determine how to support Ukraine while protecting “our own supply needs.” The Army said it also asked Capitol Hill for $500 million a year in upgrade efforts for the Army’s ammunition plants.

The US Army used to, as in circa 1980, a rather complex but comprehensive Class V management and production program. Inventory drops of this magnitude would have triggered a big refill program. The drawdown on POMCUS assets in West Germany as a result of the October 73 mideast war took over a decade to refill. This is not nearly as big an operation. Is the Army deficient now in a core competency, wholesale stock management?

“America is imperiling its own defense capabilities by sending weapons to Ukraine.”

You are witnessing the wholesale transfer of our military technology to the Ukraine, and the CCP.

Shouldn’t matter. Dems have demoralized anyone from wanting to even joint the military. So lack of ammo is no worry.

I haven’t analyzed anything.
My assumption is that the globalists are in control of the US on everything but the supreme Court and they want to ensure that nobody can stop their plans and a depleted military would help them alot.

If I am wrong, good.

Back in March Ukraine was done. Then the massive, as referenced by this article, NATO intervention began and was absorbed. After all the NATO escalation from Ukrainian Warsaw Pact junk to Stingers, HIMARS, drones, etc., the Russians have yet to escalate their response to NATO. That will surely come before Putin puts his neck in a noose by admitting his long promised defeat. This might not impress you much but rest assured Xi and his generals have taken notice. The narrative is not fluid at all. It’s the same media BS lies as from the get go. The facts of the changing situation are fluid. Ukraine got its a$$ kicked until the massive intervention by NATO made this much more costly for everyone involved. The Russians absorbed the intervention and it is now at a stalemate. The Russians have yet to escalate against NATO. Yes, that is quite an accomplishment especially if ANY of that laughable regime/media disinfo about the Russian military paper bear had been true.

What is needed is an armistice.

Neither side has to give up any claim or right.

But the killing and destruction would stop.

155mm ammo isnt very relevant to a defense of Taiwan. The US isnt going to deploy 20 divisions there. This is a job for the Navy and Air Force.

The artillery, GMLRS, anti-tank weapons, etc are doing exactly what they were designed and produced to do. Kill Russians. Invasion of Taiwan is a completely different war. Meanwhile, not a single Main Battle Tank, Infantry Fighting Vehicle, SRBM, Fighter Jet, advanced UAV or Air Defense system (beyond MANPADS) has been delivered to Ukraine. These are weapons that could significantly change the war.

According to that military hack two months ago from China they plan to hit our west coast using Taiwan is a deversion...
Turdo those sold them a deep water port last year
Videos show both Russia and China building heavy military equipment in South America and Mexico
Most of the Pfizer vaccine was manufactured by a CCP connected company Much of it in China
The Chinese flag is now flying with the Canadian flag in Canada
Dingleberry has been selling our oil reserves to China and refused to stop twice now

Many of the munitions we need are manufactured in China the chips are anyway
The Chinese Canfield 100 million fully supplied
Someone should wake up and there’s no more time

Some of that may be true but I live in Canada and I have not seen Chinese flags flying anywhere, can you offer more specific evidence? There are Chinese embassies and consulates here, maybe that’s where their flag was spotted.

Also the persistent rumors of Canadian-Chinese military co-operation relate to one exercise carried out years ago and one might surmise that it was a NATO operation to gain intel on Chinese military, not everything is what it might appear on the surface. If you’re worried about the Chinese army setting up here and pouring in across the border, I don’t see this as remotely possible. Trudeau would be arrested the moment he tried anything like that.

It is probably too late to stop whatever is going to happen. Even if Intel had the biggest chip factory in the world started up today in the US, it would probably take 5 years to fully supply the US military.

We can only hope that China is as economically finished as they are rumoured to be.

This war was started in 2014. And I stated when Russia moved in that they had already won, it was just a matter of time and what would be left of Ukraine when the dust settled.

I retract that statement now. For some reason the West is going to make sure that there is nothing left of Ukraine. September is going to get very hot.
