The majority of Americans believe political divisions have worsened since the beginning of 2021, a new poll finds — and two out of five think a civil war is likely to break out within the next decade.
About two-thirds — 66% — say Americans have become more split politically since the start of 2021 and they are largely pessimistic about the future of the United States, with 63% saying they expect the separations to increase and 62% predicting political violence will worsen over the next few years, the YouGovAmerica poll shows.

Asked about the likelihood that the country will be riven by a second civil war in the next 10 years, 14% believe it is “very likely,” 29% say it is “somewhat likely,” while 24% opt for “not very likely” and 11% say “not likely at all.” *** The poll found 79% of Republicans believe the political divisions have worsened since President Biden took office in January 2021, compared to 59% of Democrats and 65% of independents.

What are they going to do about it? The US standing army is 1,000,000 on a good day. So if half the USA secedes with 150,000,000 people, the US Army can't do a GD thing about it. It's just too damn small.

Yep. On the other hand, Venezuela was a prosperous nation back in the '70s. Before World War I, Germany was one of the wealthiest nations in the world.
The closest we came to a civil war is probably in 2020 due to coronavirus disrupting everything. But now we are almost back to normalcy, people are not going to risk losing everything they own and fight.
2 in 5 Americans are obese, with the poorest Americans being the most likely to be obese. I think we might be too fat for civil war. Maybe a warning sign would be if the obesity rate starts to recede like Lake Meade.

Just like news that the dems will win the mid terms, this is put out there so the theft is believable by the average smoe.
What would be most interesting in this scenario is who would populate the military ranks. There’s still a large rightward lean among those in uniform, in spite of their high-level leadership. The left has no nerve, weapons, or backbone to go into battle. Most are afraid of any gun. Many can’t even figure out which sex uniform they would wear.
As much as the left pushes this idea, they truly should be careful what they wish for.

I'm not the first to say it here but our side doesn't go out killing people as the Left intends to do. And their Soros operatives, urban thugs, criminals and BLM types are now ready to do.
We take care of family and community and measure up to responsibilities. Many of us are religious.
It will be a big shift as it was for peaceable people to go learn to go to war in WWI and WWII and then have to try to go back to domestic life later. Big shift.

You know how one line or post on FR stays in your mind years later among the hundreds? For me it has been in a discussion of fears of a coming race war. A comment was: "There isn't going to be a race war."
For me it was poignant when I read of case after case of assaults like one of a Detroit man who drove a delivery truck. In a common scam a young black (11) pretended to rush in front but miscalculated and was brushed hard and fell. Scam was usually to sue the driver in court and get ghetto lottery payoff there.
A crowd instantly formed and brutally beat the man Steven Utash, who had said "Oh, no, did I do this?" as he got out and tried to help the child. They kicked and kicked him and stomped on him and took turns beating him.
He was in a coma and then in terrible pain and had bleeding in his brain and broken bones.
I had trouble forgetting this incident. Still do.
