House Incumbents Being Ousted at Record Rates; It's Worse for Republicans
msn.com ^ | 9/1/22 | Nick Reynolds

Sitting members of Congress are being ousted from their seats at record rates, with Republicans constituting the majority of losses this election cycle.

With the 2022 primary season coming to a close, 15 members of Congress have lost their seats so far this year, representing the highest degree of turnover since the Obama administration, when the Tea Party revolution and an upswing in progressive activism led to 13 incumbents losing their primaries.

Though the defeats of New York Democratic Representatives Mondaire Jones and Carolyn Maloney in late August were the races that pushed the number into record-setting territory, the brunt of losses in Congress have been felt among Republican incumbents, several of whom supported the impeachment of former President Donald Trump over his role in the January 6, 2021, riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The first election year after a redistricting cycle, according to historic election data, tends to see a higher level of incumbent turnover, often due to changing district dynamics or, like in Maloney's case, district boundaries that pit them against their fellow incumbents.

Trump's influence on the electoral environment, however, played a major factor. Of the more than a dozen incumbents to lose their primaries, nine were Republicans, with four among the few conservatives who voted to impeach the former president.

Others, like Illinois Representative Rodney Davis and West Virginia Representative David McKinley, lost to candidates backed by Trump as a result of other factors, including newly drawn district boundaries and the perception that they were too moderate to stand on the modern Republican platform.

Snip

The shift has been even more cataclysmic down the ballot. According to an analysis by Ballotpedia, 202 incumbents have lost their primaries this election cycle, eclipsing the previous 20-year high set in 2018 by nearly 60 members.

Our people need to understand we 'forfeit the football game' if we can't put 11 people on the field. It's an automatic loss. So yeah, a 135 pound linebacker isn't our first choice but he's better than totally giving up before we have a chance to play.

Wrong analogy. We can't choose players who conspire with our opponents to intentionally sabotage our team. The RINOs have to go. They're what brought us here to begin with.

If all of Trump's handpicked candidates lose their races in November, that's probably the end of Trump as a political figure of importance on the national stage.

Which is why RINOcrats like Liz Cheney and her father oppose President Trump and why the RINOs conspired with Democrats to steal the election of 2020.

This person expresses him/herself like an ignorant juvenile.

(I suspect he lives in a ‘democracy’, too, and not a Constitutional Republic.)

Oh, I get it and so do the Democrats. Notice how they don't tolerate anyone on their team who supports the Republicans but the Republicans not only tolerate but promote people like Liz Cheney who actually said she was going to support Democrats against Republicans.

There is no room for RINOs. There are people out there like President Trump who'll fight for Americans while people like the Cheney's actively attack them.

“They’re a key voting block that can potentially help us this year and side with us on schools, some fiscal issues and woke politics. It’s not smart to just screw them over and say “the hell with you vote Demcorat”, especially when female voters outnumber male voters like they do. How is MAGA going to accomplish anything without the representatives in DC and the statehouses?”

If the key voting block you care about so much, were the only voters allowed to vote in the USA. We would all be living in a Bernie Sanders or Elizabeth Warren socialist shit hole. Your mentality is part of the problem.

The college educated female voter since the Reagan Presidency has turned into a ideological nutjob. They’ve turned into nutjobs because both parties have pandered to them with the stupidest political constructs.

1) Gibbedat its for the children...taxes, health care, education...blah..blah.. blah.

2) Feminist Supremacy

3) Radical black and homosexual movements wouldn’t exist without these brick heads.(Brick heads wearing a pink hat)

4) Lose your freedom because female moron heard a TV Doctor feed them propaganda.(See Fauci)

5) Worry about environmental problem that are so significant we have to destroy agricultural and industry to survive.

You keep trolling the “pampered bitch” vote the next 2 years, Trump and I will be going for the jugular.

1) Inflation
2) industry/manufacturing
3) agriculture/farming
4) A healthy financial sector
5) Technology
6) Defense
7) Good relations in foreign policy
8) laughing at people who want to talk about sexism, racism, and environmental zealotry.
9) pretending sexual weirdos deserve any seat at any table period.(See all the support for tranny stuff from the democrat party)

Besides as economic pain increases people will become less and less interested in the obscure. You are part of the politics of the last 50 years......those day are over.

That’s pure bullshit; any woman who is going to change her vote because of that Supreme Court decision wasn’t going to vote for a conservative or a Republican anyway.

Wake Up; it’s a matter for States Rights now, I’m a Californian, do you really think the FREAKS in this state are going to change their laws and make abortion more difficult here?

Make that a poll of 2, back in the 70’s when this decision was first ERRONEOUSLY made , I also just considered it nothing more than a clump of cells.

I am now very aware that that clump of cells is a HUMAN BEING; a future baby to be loved, then a future son or daughter to be taught our history and how to be an HONORABLE PERSON!

With age comes a little enlightenment (I hope).

I don’t think the word ‘shutter” means what you think it means.

Perhaps “shudder” would have been a better choice!

You’re one of these cocky hotshots on here that think everyone sees the world as you do. We beed to move on from this thinking honestly. Keep complaining everyday about Biden on here like you’re actually doing something useful!

Be nice to ask each a question along the lines of..

Is Biden the legitimate President or the installed occupier of a successful coup through a stolen election?

There’s lots of Banana Republicans in that 535 that would just want to go along with the coup and pretend the Constitutional Republic is as strong as ever.
We know what Democrats would say..

Maybe a real problem appears to be with the US military allowing it. Or worse, enabling it.

Then you can’t really blame 535 politicians.
They want to breath and have their families live..

A Constitutional Republic morphing into Banana Republic is still rewarding to the Monkeys in Congress.

Let’s just be against weed legalization and reverse gay marriage. While we’re at it, let’s just bring back prohibition so you fundamentalists can completely destroy our party!

I guess you are right, I have to at least care somewhat, so thanks. I reproach myself sometimes that I haven’t arrived at the level of humility which Paul described in Romans chapter one which I will be speaking on this very Sunday come.

Anyway, I think you missed the point. You are doing disservice to YOUR OWN cause. You say you need us, but clearly not enough to discipline your own tongue.

You mentioned others making coherent, I think you meant cogent, arguments. But that presumes that you and your ideas are worthy to be engaged, and the burden is on you to show that. We have Proverbs 26:4 (where the word “fool” means the rebel against God,) and Matthew 7:6.

If you read your bible...it says that one world government will prevail before He returns. We are supposed to lose by that logic correct? Stop mixing religion and politics.

Actually no. Why do you care what our beliefs are?

Anyway, if you are talking about pre-millenial eschatology and the pre-tribulational rapture, which is my position since 1972, then quite the opposite. In fact it is necessary for us to be removed, 2 Thess. 2:7 in order for that Tribulation to progress.

If however, you are referring to militant post-millenialism, such as is held by many Calvinists and by Ted Cruz’s father for one, then again quite the opposite. They think that they make the world better and better and thereby usher in the Kingdom.

I am not going to surrender the realm of politics to YOUR atheistic superstitious religion. I will continue to mix religion and politics as much and in the same way you do, Sirrah!

Why? Because your fundamentalist beliefs on social issues that do no really matter keep people from joining our party when we really need strength in numbers against Soros and his gang!

Like Soros who is also an atheist fundamentalist albeit a different stripe, you endeavor to silence those who disagree with you.

I don’t silence anyone, you’re making stuff up! And you are enabling Soros by pushing the numbers of people we need on our side away with social issues. You are enabling our downfall!
