A Washington school board approved a policy on Aug. 24 prohibiting the teaching of Critical Race Theory (CRT) in classrooms.

The Kennewick School Board in Kennewick, Washington, voted 5-0 on a policy which bans educators from teaching students CRT or that “their race determines their value or worth.” The policy requires that students learn “factual” U.S. history in all disciplines at school.

From what I understand, Eastern Washington is conservative.

Hate to be so cynical but they need to be looking over their shoulder for the courts to stick their noses in it.

We’ve got to stop the “Teacher’s” unions from brainwashing our children with their commie lies.

Hm. Someone said Eastern Oregon is not a liberal pit, either. I will have to investigate.

Democrats in Washington DC will be looking to demonize that school board, since, that state is wholly owned by democrats. What’s this world coming to when a deep-blue state cannot be counted on to follow the democrat agenda?

Yes we are, go east of the Washington Cascade mountain range and you come to sane, red counties where even LEO's ignore and don't enforce the insane gun laws that come out of Olympia.

“Personnel is Policy”

It doesn’t matter what the rules are, if the people who are supposed to
enforce them choose not to. Nothing will change unless someone purges the radical Left from the system.

Correct. Eastern Oregon (and Washington too, for that matter) are the folks that want to secede from the lib craziness in the western part of the state. Maybe join Idaho.

The Portland, Eugene and Salem metro areas in no way reflect
the political views of rural Oregon.

But their predominantly Left-leaning populations may
be cumulatively large enough to offset the predominantly
conservative leanings of the rest of the state.

At least that's the way I see it - and I did live there
for several years - in Douglass and Lane counties.

Anybody agree? Disagree?

It is, but Newhouse isn't? He wrapped himself in a cloak of Republicanism, but during the impeachment he went to the dark side.

That is unforgivable!

Never fear, those teachers who are of color will still be teaching the victim-hood ideology of CRT. They'll just call it something different. In fact they've been doing it all along for decades anyway.

It’s true, the rural areas of Oregon and Washington are still quite conservative for the most part. They’re just outnumbered by the communist liberals in their urban jungles. Same thing is true in California.

Spokane’s a larger city where the increasing population always tends to be leftist but much less leftist than Seattle or other W. Washington cities.

Parts of Eastern Washington are, but the cities have sizable lib population. I am happy to discover Kennewick isnt one of them.
