Stop the Dr. Oz Hate and Get With the Program
Town Hall ^ | 8/25/2022 | Kurt Schlicter

Posted on 08/25/2022 6:03:34 AM PDT by Dr. Scarpetta

I did not support Dr. Oz in the PA Senate primary, but I am sure supporting him now against Heart Attack Shrek, the communist mutant who spent the first half-century of his life sponging off his parents and now wants to spend the second half sponging off the feds with a DC sinecure.

Primaries mean something. If we believe in elections – and we have been pretty outspoken about the obnoxious election shenanigans we faced in 2020 – then we should act like it. Dr. Oz won.

A lot of folks wanted someone else. But you know who didn’t? A plurality of the Pennsylvania GOP.

What’s the proper response when you lose a primary? It’s to suck it up, get on the team, and bring in the win.

There’s little more obnoxious than Republicans getting in a hissy fit because they did not get their way after somebody else won fair and square.

We need unity in the tough PA Senate race, and we are not getting it to the extent we need.

You can have a hulking Marxist ogre whose fried brain means he will be a ventriloquist dummy for the radical lunatics surrounding him, or you can have a guy who is going to be with us a good 95% of the time and give the GOP control of the Senate agenda.

Anyone else remember Georgia? Not backing the Republicans in Georgia got us a ton of pinko judges and 87K new IRS stooges. Sitting out the run-off was a great plan.

Refusing to back Dr. Oz now in the general is not making any statement except that you are an emotion-driven BRAT mad because you didn’t get your way.

I agree that there are many occasions when we have to hold our noses and vote for a RINO.

Oz isn’t the worst of the RINOs.

I think Oz will be a Trump policy loyalist...which is an American loyalist.

Oz was not my preferred candidate in PA, but I made it clear very early on that I thought he had the best chance of them all to win a statewide race in PA.

At least there’s a reasonable shot he could be. Maybe he will betray us. We DO know that other guy is obviously not on our side.

Yep, it’s down to a binary choice.

If McCormick had won, can you imagine the vitriol here on FR over supporting him? He was, after all, Mitch’s choice.

Meh, I don’t agree with the premise. When was the last hard right candidate Mitch held his nose to vote forand support? Moat of them didn’t even support Trump over Hillary or Biden. The Repukes holding the Senate would not have stopped any of the judges or the 87k irs. Most of the stuff passed has had the Support of the Repukes. That being said Trump pulled for Oz in the primary so in support of Trump, who sacrificed so much to try to save the Republic I’m hoping Oz wins.

Oz is running in a state where dopes like Tom Ridge and Arlen Specter were popular Republicans. Dr. Oz looks like Rand Paul or Thomas Massie compared to those @ssholes.

I’d vote for him because he’s better than Fetterman. But where is the usual “I’ll never vote for the lesser of two evils” crowd?

Oz isn’t the worst of the RINOs.

The worst RINO is better than any Democrat.

The time to get your preferred candidate in the race is during the primaries. After that, it's time to rally around the party.

Yes, I know, "uniparty" and "swamp" and all that but here's the truth: Give McConnell the Senate back and he's not going to let Biden seat any judges (God help us, Clarance Thomas isn't getting any younger). He's not going to let the Democrats pass any legislation.

"But he let the Democrats pass an infrastructure bill!" many will say. Yes, the same infrastructure bill that Donald Trump wanted to pass but couldn't because Nancy Pelosi wouldn't give him a win.

We need to take back the Senate. It's an uphill fight but we at least have to try.

And this means holding your nose and getting to the polls.

McConnell undoubtedly polls his caucus, and if he doesn’t think he can win the vote, he doesn’t push for symbolic “no” votes”. It’s practical in some sense, but it also pisses off a lot of folks.

Good post.

There are a few very rare occasions where a Democrat is preferred to a RINO, but otherwise, the time for getting the best Republican is in the primary. General elections are for defeating Democrats.

Other than the infrastructure bill that Trump himself asked for, what other legislation has passed through the senate with bipartisan support?

There's no way the 87k IRS agents would've passed McConnell. And it should be noted, not a single GOP senator voted for this bill. You think they'll vote for it when they actually have a majority?
