Steven Spielberg’s private jet has burned $116,000 worth of jet fuel in two months

A private jet belonging to Steven Spielberg has burned more than $116,000 worth of jet fuel since June despite the famous Hollywood director’s past warnings about global warming, according to a flight tracking database.

Spielberg’s plane, a Gulfstream G650, has burned at least $116,159 worth of jet fuel over the course of 16 trips spanning nearly 17,000 miles since June 23, according to flight tracking data from ADS-B Exchange and compiled by the database Celebrity Jets. The figures are likely an underestimate since the database didn’t calculate fuel and distance metrics of at least three trips made by Spielberg’s jet.

Using the statistics from the article, Spielberg is on pace to use 1074 tons of carbon annually. With the average American using 16 tons annually, Spielberg uses the equivalency of 67 Americans combined annually. Rules for thee etc. Keep movin those lips Hollywood

His money and his jet so who cares? As long as he doesn’t lecture us on carbon emissions and global warming.

My semi truck has burned $25,000 worth of diesel in that same time frame. Yeah, during the Trump years that was only $11,000….

So that’s almost $7 per mile, from the data given.

Add in maintenance, insurance, flight crew, peanut snacks, ...

I have been wondering about private jet costs.

In case I want to get one.

Right now my car is about 10 cents per mile and truck is about 40 cents per mile for fuel only.

But my cars are way slower than his jet.

Are you counting the energy involved in Spielberg’s lavish lifestyle?

There’s an energy signatures to everything we buy - it’s not like the only ‘energy’ that counts is in liquid form.

These arrogant elitist mega-millionaires will NEVER apply any reductions of wasteful emissions to THEMSELVES.

We peons are supposed to eat bugs and ride bicycles while they fly around the world in fuel-guzzling private jets while eating gourmet meals.

It’s important to know who’s on those flights. Many rich people lend out their private jets for genuine charitable purposes. I am not worrying about the whole carbon footprint hoax; just pointing out that reality is generally complicated. Please don’t anyone bother to remind me that Hollywood liberals are hypocrites, as I know that already. Sadly, the right isn’t immune to the same vice.

Spielberg’s jet cost about $65,000,000 (65 million bucks)
His cost of fuel and his carbon footprint are simply nobody’s business. If he is lecturing others than have a good time moaning about fuel expenses but you are wasting your time and inconveniencing electrons.

There are many other expenses to owning an airplane.
If you can afford one, good for you!

How about a person can get 5 tines the average person carbon footprint. From 5-10 times they are heavily taxed and must purchase carbon offsets, After you hit 10 times the average person carbon footprint you only get what an average person uses. You can’t buy credits or rich buy there way out of it. You carbon footprint would include all your houses, private jets, vehicles, heating and air conditioning, travel, etc.

Hey, that’s only 179 tons of carbon dioxide emitted into the atmosphere which is about half as much as expelled by Congre$$ every week.
