I must admit that Austalia is such a disappointment to me.

I thought it would be a country devoted to FREEDOM.

Instead, they are following Muslim courtries with the crackdown on EVERYTHING.

Now, I don’t care to read anything that comes out of that area. What a shame.

“to ensure that our vehicle lending doesn’t lock our customers in to higher carbon emissions...you should think seriously about an electric vehicle - Bank Australia

An electric vehicle doesn’t make electricity. It only stores electricity that was made elsewhere, primarily by coal. To say you’re not locking into emissions is not valid.

Any bank that has a Chief IMPACT Officer should not be making car loans in the first place. Sort of like an airplane manufacturer named "Boom".

And just in the Wide Wide World of Sports does a Chief Impact Officer do, anyway? Besides manage the lesser Impact Officers?

Once upon a time, in a long ago world, I considered taking a job “Down under”... As well as one in the Canal Zone. Thankfully, I did not!

Australia is one of the least densely-populated countries in the world.

the idea of having chargers everywhere is RIDICULOUS.

Tesla seems to have their own chargers. is it necessary to have different ones for different vehicles? if so, then Australia needs more than one set of chargers throughout its vast land.

what if - as seems very likely - the EV industry drops lithium batteries for something else they’ve been boasting about lately? will they require new chargers?

how will they maintain all the chargers in the remotest parts of Australia?

shutting down coal-fired plants (while sending tens of millions of tonnes of it to China, Japan, the rest of Asia, etc) means the electricity grid in Australia is FRAGILE.

WHY IS ANY OF THIS HAPPENING TO A COUNTRY LIKE AUSTRALIA WHICH HAS EVERY IMAGINABLE ENERGY RESOURCE AVAILABLE?

guess it’s because much of the EU is running out of natural resources, so they’ve come up with this climate hoax so they can lead the new form of eco-colonialism!

“Ultimately, our announcement today is the beginning of a conversation with our customers “

And the conversation is, our way or the highway.

I despise these fascist, holier than thou do-gooders with a passion.

I hope they go broke.

Oh, I think I see the problem.

They confused “idiotic” with “responsible” somehow.

Ultimately, our announcement today is the beginning of a conversation

Leftists love to talk about starting conversations. They define conversation as "I will tell you what you do and you will listen and comply".

It isn’t a ‘conversation’ when you’ve already made the decision to meddle with their lifestyle choices.

It’s hard to know where to start with this nonsense.

Electric cars must be recharged. Australia is one of the WORST candidates to impose such fascism upon its people and their transportation because of the vast distances between populated areas.

It won’t be very long before lunatics like this will be chased down and locked up for their attempt to impose a completely unworkable and absurd lie upon the Australian people.

As Neil Oliver’s wife said, “This is not about ‘GOING GREEN.’ It is about GOING WITHOUT.”

You will stay home. Be poor. Do only what you are told to do. Your life will be miserable and your personal dreams and objectives will have no more meaning than they had for legions of hopeless people during the Dark Ages after the fall of the Roman Empire.

These are the plans of godless people who believe the Earth is a false idol to be worshipped and was not created by Almighty God to be under the control, use and domain of the people He created to inhabit it.

These godless people who demand this control will never THEMSELVES live the miserable existence they desire for others to have. These elites will always have what THEY want until the angry hordes rise up and destroy these wicked tyrants and reclaim the world as their gift from God and their domain under God’s stated plan.

Good luck with that model.

The other banks will pick up the slack and they will lose tons of money.

I wonder how long this virtue signal will last?

It’s customer owned, right?

And looks like their call center is experiencing difficulties.

Note to owner/customers: Smooth move.

Of the many places I've visited there are two that seem to be good spots for solar panels...the UAE (Arabian Peninsula) and Australia. OTOH,in Australia if you go more than 50 miles from the ocean you're in the middle of nowhere. Having your EV run out of juice there could put you in a difficult spot.

Because the government has been so successful in picking out the winning industries in the past. The u.s. has chosen electric vehicles and taking the money from workers to bet on it. Screw the invisible hand, /s
