An Australian bank announced this week that it will stop funding loans for new gas and diesel cars in 2025 to encourage the shift to electric vehicles.

"We think that the responsible thing for us to do next, is to ensure that our vehicle lending doesn’t lock our customers in to higher carbon emissions and increasingly expensive running costs in the years ahead," Bank Australia Chief Impact Officer Sasha Courville said in a statement on Friday.

"Ultimately, our announcement today is the beginning of a conversation with our customers and a signal to the wider market that if you’re considering buying a new car, you should think seriously about an electric vehicle – both for its impact on the climate and for its lifetime cost savings."

I must admit that Austalia is such a disappointment to me.

I thought it would be a country devoted to FREEDOM.

Instead, they are following Muslim courtries with the crackdown on EVERYTHING.

Now, I don’t care to read anything that comes out of that area. What a shame.

“to ensure that our vehicle lending doesn’t lock our customers in to higher carbon emissions...you should think seriously about an electric vehicle - Bank Australia

An electric vehicle doesn’t make electricity. It only stores electricity that was made elsewhere, primarily by coal. To say you’re not locking into emissions is not valid.

So they’re making loans under false pretenses. Doesn’t that make the loan contract null and void then?

Any bank that has a Chief IMPACT Officer should not be making car loans in the first place. Sort of like an airplane manufacturer named "Boom".

And just in the Wide Wide World of Sports does a Chief Impact Officer do, anyway? Besides manage the lesser Impact Officers?

Once upon a time, in a long ago world, I considered taking a job “Down under”... As well as one in the Canal Zone. Thankfully, I did not!

Australia is one of the least densely-populated countries in the world.

the idea of having chargers everywhere is RIDICULOUS.

Tesla seems to have their own chargers. is it necessary to have different ones for different vehicles? if so, then Australia needs more than one set of chargers throughout its vast land.

what if - as seems very likely - the EV industry drops lithium batteries for something else they’ve been boasting about lately? will they require new chargers?

how will they maintain all the chargers in the remotest parts of Australia?

shutting down coal-fired plants (while sending tens of millions of tonnes of it to China, Japan, the rest of Asia, etc) means the electricity grid in Australia is FRAGILE.

WHY IS ANY OF THIS HAPPENING TO A COUNTRY LIKE AUSTRALIA WHICH HAS EVERY IMAGINABLE ENERGY RESOURCE AVAILABLE?

guess it’s because much of the EU is running out of natural resources, so they’ve come up with this climate hoax so they can lead the new form of eco-colonialism!

The lockdowns & forced vaxes revealed the degree of societal submissiveness that can be exploited — extremely disheartening.

“Ultimately, our announcement today is the beginning of a conversation with our customers “

And the conversation is, our way or the highway.

I despise these fascist, holier than thou do-gooders with a passion.

I hope they go broke.

I had never heard of this bank before I read this article. I looked it up and it is a mutual bank owned by customers, sort of like a credit union. Mainly based in the Peoples Republic of Victoria mainly in the Green capital of Melbourne.

They actually have more power than the CEO. They’re the ones that institutionalize woke policies and enforce them

And the CEO better not object to them or else they’ll sic activists, who forced the creation of Chief Impact Officer in the first place, after him.

Oh, I think I see the problem.

They confused “idiotic” with “responsible” somehow.

I had hoped, long ago, that Australia 🦘 or perhaps some remote area of Canada would be a good place to retire, within the sphere of Western freedom.

So.........
