CROW AGENCY — At Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument, artifacts from the past are popping up more frequently. Visitors found a Civil War General Service cuff button just last week.

The park memorializes the last stand the Lakota and Cheyenne tribes took against the U.S. Army’s 7th Calvary to preserve their way of life.

Not trying to make anyone here feel old or anything, but something from 1922 is a century old.

Yeah, you have repeated that mantra often in this thread. Now, try to discuss it objectively from a historical and ethical perspective. An intellectual conversation is preferable to parrot talk.

Do you believe the Native Americans had been treated fairly up to that point in time? What would be your reaction to being forced to live on nearly useless land? What would be your reaction if the food you and your family were promised was rarely delivered on time? How would you treat US troops who just murdered a large number of families in your neighborhood?

Come on, engage me here. Explain why you are so callous toward the Native American point of view. Would you do anything your leadership asked you to do, including bashing down doors and taking homeowners' weapons? Are you a fed?

Yours does too. Mostly about you just being a bigot who takes his stand without being able to reason through it. It also says you are indeed a fed.

Modernity will always advance until we are destroyed by the modern notions of communism and transgenderism.

None of them were innocent tourists. They all went there to murder / butcher the other side. This instance the Plains Indians won. BFD. We killed millions they killed tens of thousands. No one was a hero or villain. I will keep my personal opinions out of it.

We didn’t kill millions, look into how many Indians and non-Indians were killed in combat, Mexicans, blacks, and orientals will be too hard to find numbers for so use whites and Indians.

“The American military was in the middle of a program of genocide that planes Indians so I don’t have much ...”

What kinds of planes were the Plains Indians using? Fighter-bombers?

Well, I don’t know about that. But technology sure does.

That’s why the Indians couldn’t win.

Good God.

I just cut “how many Indians and non-Indians were killed in combat” out of my post 68 and this is what Google search provided https://www.google.com/search?q=how+many+Indians+and+non-Indians+were+killed+in+combat&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
No wonder the left is so successful in making modern Americans hate themselves.

In my research, which isn’t perfect, the numbers I could find years ago were in the thousands, with slightly more whites killed than Indians, the numbers were shockingly low for us who thought of centuries of 10s of thousands killed.

Indirectly we did. Culture, disease and land grabs killed millions. Granted probably 80% were via diseases but there were millions dead over 300+ years. Stone Age meets Iron Age = death to people with limited immunity, no technology, no written language and still flint Knapping. On top of that they were less than United. Enemies teamed up with enemies to settle old scores They never had a chance and it’s history that is not in question. You want to argue with everyone. That’s ok. Your wrong but that is your freedom.

Your desire to label the 7th Calvary church - oops 7th cavalry of the US army was there to kill them (man women and children). They lost but in the end the US army, US government won. So it is what it is. Again no good guys in this historical truth. Complain all you want but it will not and never will end the truth. We eradicated those who refused to be pushed out.

Out of curiosity, why are you unwilling to see history as what it was/is? Personal ties, hold on a narrative, or just plain stubborn? I don’t really care and will not change you opinions but always interested in why the opinions get held so tight that partial truths won’t penetrate.

I grew up 40 miles from that battlefield and went to school with many of the great grandchildren of those fighters so I think I speak with some authority..

Well then, you should know that its Plains Indians not planes indians

If you want to see history, then quit thinking that diseases were white people.

Personally, I like America, there was a time when America was very popular with freepers.

Good catch, 11 years is like 1956 to WWII.

Here is Elvis Presley in 1956.

Your being intellectually dishonest. I'm done. Disease = disease. Now have your last ignorant, uneducated, and just plain idiotic comment and I will consider everything you post here not worth reading for time and all eternity. Disease was separated from culture. If you wanted to argue with the correct method it would have been to argue how many indigenous were really in North America. Some may suggest less than 2 million. I think that is low but it would have been a better argument than I was stating we are a disease. We were not. We were coming like a tsunami and there was no stopping us. We were going to take the nation no ifs ands or buts. We rolled over the “Indians” that were here.
