My German grandmother used to collect rainwater from the house downspouts to wash her hair. The water in Westchester County, NY was quite hard and she liked the “soft” nature of naturally desalinated and demineralized water from the sky. I don’t recall how she filtered out the crud from the roof and gutters, though. Could be my memory is faulty, but I sure do recall those rain barrels on the downspouts.

Well, I agree with all those three things.

My question then is, why did he let his coastal commission cancel a big desalination plant in SoCal a couple of months ago?

Has he finally seen the light or is he just blowing smoke?

Quote: “What we are focused on is creating more supply, what we are focused on is creating more water.”

Wait, what?!?! Does this mean Newsom is now a “supply sider?”

Keep in mind that drug usage==about 1/2 stays in human body.

The OTHER HALF gets excreted into the water system

Ways to save water don’t include curtailing infinity number of illegals and other migrants - and building massive apartment structures to house them all.

Very interesting that you brought that up. A British YouTuber, History Debunked, made the same point about a ‘water shortage’ in Britain. Blame is on lack of rainfall, but he cited records that show lean years for rain in the past didn’t result in rationing or curtailing water use.

What was different was the increase in population in Britain, most of which due to immigration. Britain is dealing with thousands of illegals a year and we’re dealing with millions. The mayors of D.C. and N.Y. are claiming the busloads from Texas are crowding out homeless shelters in their cities. What do they think is happening in areas along the border where the numbers are orders of magnitude larger?

Right?

Meanwhile a similar desalination plant is in full operation a few miles down the coast in Carlsbad.

The Sacramento River flows out of shasta resivour.

I live 100 yards from it.
I check it everyday.

If it was any higher it would be overflowing its banks.

If they weren’t letting water flow out of shasta , the Sacramento riverbed would be gone dry.

Wow...the entire Central Valley and rice and wetlands were dry in late March when they are normally flooded.

How can they possibly be letting water out of Shasta? It was maybe 25% full in late March.

The snowpack wasn’t that great this year and it’s too late in the year to get much snow melt.
