Donald Trump Must Be The 2024 Republican Nominee
American Thinker ^ | 8/10/22 | Ted Noel

Posted on 08/10/2022 6:58:48 PM PDT by conservative98

I’ve written twice that Donald Trump should not be the next Republican nominee for President (here and here). I intended to write a counterpoint essay extolling Donald Trump as a devil’s advocate’s exercise. But with Inspector Javert Wray signing off on the raid at Trump’s Florida residence, no doubt enthusiastically approved by Grand Inquisitor Torquemada Garland, this has lost its academic flavor. Rather, I rise to praise Donald Trump as the necessary candidate for the Republican Party to oppose whatever infernal chimera Acheron will deliver up as The Donald’s hapless opponent.

In case you’re wondering, I’m mad as hell, and I’m not going to take it anymore. It’s time to bury the “Democrat” Party. And Donald Trump is the right undertaker. Let’s start with the justification (i.e., excuse) for the raid.

[cut]

...We don’t need Donald Trump to implement Schedule F. Ron DeSantis could do it just as easily. But there is one thing only Donald Trump can do.

Donald Trump’s re-election can restore faith in America. We’ve all seen how high-sounding words tossed off by the Left as if they mean something are simply sociopaths lying about their plans to create Gulag America. They have a two-tier justice system in which the privileged are given a pass for things that cause mere mortals to lose life and liberty. Many are rotting in solitary confinement without the benefit of trial for the simple act of walking into the Capitol building after police waved them in. The list of evil perversions of justice is too long for this missive.

Donald Trump’s re-election would say that the Left has lost in a way that no other candidate can say...

I sure would go for Trump with DeSantis as his vice president and after Trump leaves the office DeSantis would continue where Trump left off for another eight years. Either way it would take a miracle to get this screwed up country back on the right track. Anything is possible but highly doubtful. Once a country is on the path of self-destruct there is little what can be done to stop it. Politicians can be changed every so often, but the mindset of a public which has been dumbed down on purpose over many decades would take just as long or longer to change and I don’t think this will happen.

I, like you, turned on a dime in 2016. I was all for Cruz, until my eyes fully opened. There was a time when I said there was no way I would never vote for Donald Trump, well within a month’s time, I was fully aboard the Trump train. For better, for worse, for thicker or thin, I’ll stay on that train right through to the very end.

I am NOT going to run scared about who might get the hard left Democrats worked up in a froth. That gives the veto power over nominees to our enemies. The same motivating the left spiel was claimed about Reagan.

In my defense I was living in Connecticut and read the New York Post during the whole Marla Maples thing. It turns out that he was a late bloomer in some respects, and that he's an even better president than he is a tycoon.

One thing, I NEVER doubted that he would beat Mrs. Clinton, even when I didn't support him.

Like George Washington before him Trump is the “indispensable man”.

Beware of those who turn on a dime.

We need people to join our side, events like these help these people see what is actually going on

People do live in bubbles until they see what is going on around them

We need to convert as many moderate democrats and “RINO” or moderate republicans as we possibly can.

We need to be the inclusive party, and welcome in as many as we can.

I am also not saying we give these people power in the party, they would have to earn their chops just like any one else.

Looks like this guy is a political writer or political journalist. I would assume he already knew what was going...But apparently not.

Even political writers need an "aha" moment once in a while. This even made him see where this is going. He rightly figured out that if Trump can be treated this way and abandoned, the rest of us are next.

Think of the guy boarding the rocket when he heard "To Serve Man . . . It's a cookbook!" He wanted to turn on a dime, but then it was too late.

You mean like every political expert, journalist, professional pundits, career politicians all said Trump would never be elected president? For some reason I don't have a lot of confidence in those people and don't trust most of them. That's just me.

DeSantis, at this time, seems the strongest choice for Trump’s successor. But he might be underutilized as Trump’s VP when there is still work to be done building MAGA strength in FL and leading state government level efforts, nationwide, to drain the swamp. Which raises the consideration of who else might be Trump’s VP. He must be someone we’d be confident would continue Trump’s work, as, strong though he looks, Trump will be old enough he might not naturally last 4 years. Moreover we have to be concerned that he might, unnaturally not last 4 years. Someone so MAGA that the left would rather keep Trump than risk his furious veep would be good. Someone who doesn’t want the top job, who’d be happy to step aside for DeSantis in ‘28, but would be willing to be drafted for the work of veep. How about Steve Bannon?!

I have zero confidence in the mediocre pundits who said Trump was going to get blown out twice.

In 2016 he won 30 states plus ME-2 in defeating Clinton.

In 2020 he was robbed of his historic second term by the Big Steal. Even with the cheating he still carried 25 states plus ME-2.

He’ll carry at least 30 states in 2024.

It is absolutely undeniable that former President Donald Trump is by far the most popular and most influential conservative leader in modern U.S. history, and that a successful extra-legal attack on him by the fascist left will destroy both the conservative movement and end any pretense that the people of our country actually control our country ...

Therefore the array of conservative factions will have no choice but to unify and surround Donald Trump with our undivided support, because if the fascist left can bring down Donald Trump with extra-legal machinations, then they can bring down any and all of us as well, and thus a failure of conservatives to unify will doom us all ...

At this juncture, anyone who claims to be conservative but still attacks Donald Trump will expose themselves as nothing more than tools of the fascist left and must be completely shunned and totally ostracized from the conservative conversation ... period ...

It isn’t.

I read the left wing sites all the time.

They want the USS Trump decommissioned and put in a scrap yard before 2024.

The last thing they want, is to be facing Trump again. He scares the crap out of them.
