Rose demanded that the term “Mount Rushmore” be canceled because the monument dedicated to U.S. presidents was built “on top of dead bodies” of Native Americans.I wonder if Rose has even been to Mount Rushmore to make such an asinine statement. The Siouxian tribes moved into the area roughly a century before gold was first discovered there.
The vast majority of them weren't even there 30 years because they were pushed out of Minnesota as a result of the 1862 uprising.
Prior to moving to Minnesota, the Sioux were native to the Ohio Valley and were pushed out by other Native American tribes, notably the Huron, long before the white man came. The Mandan, cousin tribe to the Sioux were one of the first to exit, circa 1500 and selected the Knife River valley of present day North Dakota because it was remote enough they thought they would be left alone . . . and they were for roughly three centuries.

The bimbo has to throw in “flawed”’ because when I think of the founders, I think “flawed”.

He's deluding himself with a sanitized image of Americn Indians.
"They are very cruel towards their enemies in time of war; for they first bite off the nails of the fingers of their captives, and cut off some joints, and sometimes even whole fingers; after that, the captives are forced to sing and dance before them stark naked; and finally, they roast their prisoners dead before a slow fire for some days, and then eat them up. The common people eat the arms, buttocks and trunk, but the chiefs eat the head and the heart."

They keep pushing and pushing and pushing. I think these people are hoping that if they can make every discussion painfully stupid and impossible, that we will eventually just start the violence. Then they can unleash the genocide and say it’s our fault.

Absolutely correct and appropriate to state that the four men portrayed on Mount Rushmore were "amazing" or great, because so few men are. Redundant and utterly pointless to state that these men in particular were flawed, because all men are flawed. Usually not as flawed as the whining, posturing idiots who try to tear down the memory of great men, but all of us are flawed.

The Comanche were no less savage:
"One by one, the children and young women were pegged out naked beside the camp fire,’ according to a contemporary account. ‘They were skinned, sliced, and horribly mutilated, and finally burned alive by vengeful women determined to wring the last shriek and convulsion from their agonised bodies. Matilda Lockhart’s six-year-old sister was among these unfortunates who died screaming under the high plains moon."
"The Comanche roasted captive American and Mexican soldiers to death over open fires. Others were castrated and scalped while alive. The most agonising Comanche tortures included burying captives up to the chin and cutting off their eyelids so their eyes were seared by the burning sun before they starved to death."

I find the existence of ESPN ‘analyst’ (pun not intended) Jalen Rose offensive. I say we cancel him instead.

Before he complains about MT Rushmore has HE begged the Indians for forgiveness? Both his home in Detroit and the University in Michigan that made him rich and famous were on land taken from the Indians. Pretty hypocritical.

... and there are no dead bodies buried underneath Mt. Rushmore. It’s a giant chunk of granite that goes far down into the earth.

Oh, and let’s point out what the Sioux did to the Mandans, Hidatsas, and Arikaras who lived in South Dakota before the Sioux arrived. The Sioux have very little to brag about in terms of things being “built on the dead bodies of Native Americans”. To this day, the Mandans, Hidatsas, and Arikaras share a reservation with each other in North Dakota ... but not with the Sioux.
