How Germany is prosecuting its final Nazis —now in their 90s or older
New York Post ^ | August 6, 2022 | Isabel Vincent

When she appeared in a German court last month, Irmgard Furchner sat in a wheelchair clutching her handbag. Her mask and kerchief made it difficult to see the face of the 97-year-old — who has been charged with more than 11,000 counts of “aiding and abetting” murder during the Holocaust.

The nursing-home resident was a secretary in the commandant’s office of the Stutthof concentration camp near Danzig, and is now among the latest former Nazis to be prosecuted in Germany.

The defendants are in their late 90s or even centenarians, but German prosecutors and a Nazi hunter are determined that they face justice for the murder of six million Jews.

Seems a bit pointless going after a 90 year old secretary.

Isn’t it a few years too late? Why do we beat the Dead Horse of WW II? Why does this continue to haunt us? Its over? Everyone who was alive then is DEAD or too old to even remember what happened or what they did so long ago. There are other things that need to be figured out NOW. We keep thinking WW III will be like a new WW II—it will not be. In many ways the Ukraine war is more like WW I—Trenches and all. We have new problems to worry about—a rise in Communism Ideology for one. AS things become unequal many will find this idea appealing. Not—the CCP Communism that is just State Capitalism—but full blown Maoism

Soros was a 14 year old boy when the war ended.

Meanwhile, the Stalinists, who killed far more than the NAZIs, mostly escaped prosecution, and are even honored as heroes.

And, of course Mao, who killed even more innocents, is actively worshiped.

Does that mean we get to prosecute receptionists of doctors who gave people the jab during the Covid mania if their patients die from the shot?

Crazy stuff.

“Prosecuting an secretary?”

A few years back they prosecuted some poor old guy who was allegedly guilty of DELIVERING MAIL to a camp. No kidding, that was his ‘crime’.

How is it Soros skates on this?

He ratted out Jews to the Nazis even tho he is a Jew himself.

Is it because he is rich that folks give him a pass?

The Wilsonian doctrine after WWI started the 20th century ball a rollin’ weren’t it for the financial bloodletting of Germany through the armistice the 20th century might have been quite different.

Academics were well aware of the crises taking shape by the 20’s and addressed these issues at that point in time.

No one detests Nazis more than I.

But, it seems the bar for who is considered a war criminal has been lowering as fewer former Nazis are left.

Secretaries and adjutants, etc. who were ignored in the 1950s - 1980s as the Nazi hunters pursued the actual killers are now being targeted simply because the rest of them are dead and there are so few left to prosecute.

It’s ironic because their current leadership agrees with about 95% of the Nazi platform. Socialism, government control, environmentalism, world domination by the elite, etc. Really all that has changed is who they identify as an enemy of the state.

Emmett Till was murdered by two men. I don’t think it really should be called a lynching, which traditionally meant mob violence. You see photos of old lynchings (late 19th/early 20th century) and there are large crowds, often hundreds of people. Anti-lynching activists later got it defined to be three or more involved in the lynching which is kind of stretching the notion of a mob, but in the Till case it wasn’t even three. Of course it’s common to use the term because of the emotional impact.

Some STASI officials were prosecuted many more were not even though they are known and occupy fairly important positions in various organizations in Germany.

Plenty old to have done things that still matter. By that age Audrey Hepburn was carrying messages for the Dutch resistance past the armed Nazi occupiers! Soros in contrast signed on with the Nazis to help them locate and loot hidden Jewish treasure. A bit more active help than the similarly aged girl now under trial per the source for just doing clerical work at a concentration camp.

Of course there is much he's done since the war that remains unpunished. Allegedly his US citizenship application was fraudulent back in the 50s. He's caused Billions of dollars in intentional damage to multiple countries via manipulating their currency for his profit. If those thefts aren't serious crimes they ought to be. A few years back he gifted $18 Billion to the (undeservingly) tax free non-profit fund he now, and his heirs going forward, controls to push his agenda. I wonder how much he tax he paid on that transaction. I don't know but would guess zilch. At a decent tax rate we could afford to reopen Alcatraz and put him in Capone's old cell. Although I'd grant the Brits primacy if they'd really send 007 to finish him.

We know about Soros as an adult but as a WWII Nazi war criminal, no.

Soros was 13 during the D-Day invasions.
