Why lie? He endorsed “ERIC.”

There are three Erics running.

Eric Schmitt
Eric Greitens
Eric McElroy

He said he’d “trust Missouri voters to make up their own minds.”

All this means is he is ok with any of the Erics.

If this is true, Trump is doing us no favors.

Yea, but only after he said the endorsement didn’t really mean that much in this race.

And later in the evening he criticized Eric Schmidt. Made his choice. Not a good one in my opinion.

This seems like a bad strategy on Trump’s part. Now all the Never-Trumpers will coalesce behind the woman, and the real Americans will be split.

“And later in the evening he criticized Eric Schmidt. Made his choice. Not a good one in my opinion.”

History has shown us Donald Trump is not very good at identifying, vetting and selecting talent. He seems to go with his gut at a given time and place versus doing some time consuming homework. He proved his poor judgment with people when he entrusted Michael Cohen to be his personal attorney and with many choices for key positions in his administration. Many of his endorsements of political candidates have been head scratchers.

At this point in his life, it is clear Trump is not going to eradicate this significant weakness, nor does he even appear to be aware of this weakness since he does not appear to be doing anything to compensate for it. Should he run, thinking voters will have to determine if the inability to find great people to serve under him and support his initiatives is a fatal flaw which will prevent him from being successful in office. Certainly this weakness helped cripple his first administration.

It was a way of being against Schmidt, but saying it doesn’t count as an endorsement of his that lost.

Since, all that I’ve seen is that President Trump endorsed ‘Eric’, Greitens’s claim that Trump endorsed him specifically seems to confirm my feelings about him as a candidate. He’s been pushing this ‘endorsement’ relentlessly in the past few hours. Phone calls, e-mails, text messages, you name it. It, to me, reeks of desperation. I will not be voting for him tomorrow.

Yes I apologize. See #18

He is claiming it and it isn’t clear.

It would be ironic if this puts the voters off like you.

Yes, he is doing us a favor. Eric G is unelectable and would not get the women’s vote in November—even Republican women. Trump never campaigned for Eric G, never did robo calls, fundraising, or any commercials. He never appeared in a MO rally for the sake of Eric G. Kimberly Guilfoyle was Eric G’s national finance chairman, making money off the leader. Trump was brilliant to hedge his bets. Any “Eric” is now a victory for Trump, with minimal commitment. If Eric G wins, count on saying “Senator Trudy Bush Valentine.” This way we have a fighting chance on a seat we should never have contested to begin with.
