The former chief editor of the Chinese Communist Party's state tabloid, the Global Times, suggested the country shoot down U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for visiting Taiwan if her plane refuses to divert course.
China's government has warned it will take "forceful measures" if Pelosi visits Taiwan after the Financial Times reported she would travel to the Chinese-claimed island nation next month.
Hu Xijin, former chief editor of the Global Times, called Pelosi's planned visit an "invasion," and suggested shooting down the speaker's plane if U.S. fighter jets escort it to Taiwan.

I can’t think of a worse way to stir up anti-Chinese sentiment, if that’s what they’re trying to do.
As much as I dislike Pelosi, I don’t really want the CCP to shoot her plane down.
also: Does it seem to anyone else that China is settling into the role of boogieman? Something that unfortunate events and actions can be readily blamed on...while perhaps being an ally of those who point at China as the culprit?

Why would the Chicoms worry about Pelosi visiting Taiwan? She is totally on their side. It is Taiwan that should be worried.

we are marching into a major war(s). cycles seem to move faster in the technology age but it could be a year or two before something hot happens. it feels like it could be a lot sooner, and the administration has every reason to want a major war this year (election issues).
the US is hopelessly bankrupt and is staggering around like a violent drunk, intentionally provoking issues and already involved in one fight and now maybe started another with an even larger entity. I go through the outcome set from this and it is hard to see upside.
Maybe Taiwan will do it and blame The XI Man.
