A Georgia elementary school is under fire for its new logo that some parents insist resembles a Nazi symbol — prompting district officials to halt its rollout.
The new logo for East Side Elementary in Marietta was unveiled Monday, depicting the school’s eagle mascot along with its initials in blue font.
A message to parents said it was selected to “represent the eagle soaring into excellence,” as well as to honor the school’s history, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.
But parents and other eagle-eyed observers, including some from the American Jewish Committee, quickly noted its “striking and uncomfortable” resemblance to the Nazi eagle.
“This only clarifies the urgent need for comprehensive Holocaust education at all level,” the advocacy group tweeted Tuesday.
The symbol initially featured an eagle gripping a swastika, but other variations depict SS bolts or a Celtic Cross, according to the ADL.
“It should be noted that eagles are a common symbol among nations worldwide, including the United States, and not every image of an eagle is derivative of the Nazi eagle,” ADL’s website states.
The rollout of the new logo has since been halted and officials are “immediately reviewing needed changes,” a district spokeswoman confirmed Thursday to The Post.
The design was actually based on a US Army symbol, district officials said.

So now 0-6s are naughtzees? My dad was an 0-6 and might take exception to that. I just checked the eagle on my NCO patch from my time in and I’m in the clear since the eagle is looking left and not right. Actually I checked here:
and the style guide shows the 0-6 eagles looking the opposite of what the picture shows so..........
I have things in my house that look more like Nazi symbols. It’s one of the oldest quilt blocks — a variation on the Rail Fence pattern.
People are insane.
I have told my children since they were little... “Always remember that 9 of every 10 people you encounter are blithering idiots, and the last one may or may not be smarter than you.”

Right you are. The government schools (along with the rest of the government) are openly pushing every sort of sexual deviancy imaginable but the only thing these people can see is similarity to Nazism in a logo?
For me, that’s the problem. Coupled with the fact that we do indeed have a bit of a fascist problem right now and the fact that it doesn’t look like a school emblem so much as an authoritarian one.
Oh, and that the eagle is not soaring, so they are lying about that.

As you probably know from history, the supreme court struck down FDR's NRA. My Dad repeated a joke from that era.

I know what you’re saying.... but here’s my dilemma.
I know the schools are infested with Commies and fascists. It’s their playbook. So that’s strike 1.
I know how these people operate. Remember their impassioned plea for sex ed in high school? Now look where we are at. Strike 2.
And the third strike is the parents don’t like it. Make them change it if for no other reason than to remind them of who is in charge.
You have to nip things in the bud with these folks... they have learned not to go whole hog, but incrementally. They use this to great effect.

this is the result of an uneducated populace.
Basic education has been ignored for twenty years and now these people are graphic artists and decisionmakers.
My kids are not rocket scientists.
However they received a classical homeschooling education and excel in their chosen fields. Because they have been taught facts and how to think.
Many programs want to teach how to think without information. Unless children have the basis of information about the culture and other cultures and the basic science and math facts they have no ground to build on.
Probably designed by some woke LGBTQP+ millennial who was too lazy to do something original.
