It’s not called the New York Slimes for nothing. Next they’ll be telling us how people are searching for remains of partial birth abortions to keep as mementos on their shelves.

I remember when the US invaded Grenada in 1983. A college friend of mine received some bloody insignia from the uniform of a dead Cuban his brother had killed.

Armies, mercs, fighting groups, tribes, etc. have been doing this for thousands of years.
The issue now is?

A couple months after Grenada (I was in my teens at the time) somebody found an AK-47 in a pond about 20 miles from my home in PA. Local and state police (and maybe the ATF) started investigating and tracked it down. Apparently one of the young Rangers who had jumped into Grenada had smuggled it back as a war trophy, then got nervous when he realized it might be a problem and ditched it.

Actally, I'd be surprised if there's not a market for such things online.

And to the pic-

During WWII, my father shipped captured weapons back to the states. The GI’s had to crate them and the US military shipped them home. Dad was an Armorer.

After the war a crooked gunsmith in MD was bilking GI’s of those weapons they were to have “sporterized”. They simply stole and sold the best of the stuff.

Dad took train back to MD and testified in the trial. The defense lawyers were trying to discredit him as a witness because he was not an expert. They fixed that by having him declared an expert, because he was an armorer. Between the postal service and the NRA they put those vermin out of business.

Dad had sent them a German sniper’s rifle. All he got back was the stock. Government gave him a new K98 action and barrel. I inherited it from dad. With the right ammo, the Mauser K98 is a fine weapon. Very fine construction. I had a hard time finding brass for it. Was finally able to get enough. Have it loaded in 150 gr and 198 grain SP bullets.

Most people who complain about poor performance of the 8MM Mauser have issues with wrong diameter bullets. (not all K98’s are alike)

My dad had an ammo box and some south sea native trinkets from his time in the Korean War. I don’t have a problem with those who fought in war having some trophies but I doubt this young environmental activist has ever fired a weapon.

I’ve always wondered why there’s no Fake News in Ukraine to record the live combat going on there.

My father brought back a nice deep blue silk robe with an orange dragon on it and a waxed paper umbrella from Shanghai after the war and a bayonet and an Arisaka rifle from Japan.

Had Germany utilized more semi-auto weapons in WWII, it may have had a greater affect on the outcome, however, Germany was literally constrained by production and materiel, not to mention the ammo needed to equip an army utilizing high rate of fire weapons.

The Hucks in the Philippines did that. They would slither out of camp with a knife and very quietly infiltrate the Japanese entrenchments. Two Japanese soldiers in foxhole. One wakes the next morning and see’s his neighbor with throat slit and his ears gone. Trademark then.

It is disgusting to think about, but so is war.

At times there is no option but war.

LOL. Had a Filipino Master Sergeant at Hood who was 110 pounds of Scary. Demonstrated taking down two big boys simultaneously with eskrima sticks in a few seconds. I stayed on his good side.
