Former Vice President Mike Pence’s national security adviser, retired Gen. Keith Kellogg, said he would back former President Donald Trump in a hypothetical 2024 matchup with his former boss.
“Sometimes, you have to pick the lane you’re gonna run with,” Kellogg told the Washington Examiner on Tuesday when asked about a possible contest between Trump and Pence. “I’ve always been a Trump guy.”
Of the relationship between Trump and Pence, “We tried to bring him in tight,” Kellogg said in reference to Pence. “It’s not because we haven’t reached out to him.” Pence advisers “like Marc Short,” Kellogg added in the interview, “have pulled away from the Trump team,” referring to the former vice president’s chief of staff.
Neither Pence nor Trump have declared their candidacies for president. While Trump has strongly suggested that he might run again, there is growing speculation about a Pence 2024 candidacy as he continues to deliver speeches, including one to a conference of young conservatives in Washington on Tuesday.
“If I was putting money in Las Vegas down on the table as to whether he is going to run or not, I think he is running,” Kellogg said of Trump, “but I don’t know.” The retired general said he spoke with the former president several weeks ago.
Trump also returned to Washington to speak for the first time in more than a year, telling a crowd that the United States needs to place more emphasis on public safety amid rising crime, drug use, and homelessness.
Americans “don’t have safety” and “don’t have freedom” right now, Trump said during a speech at the America First Policy Institute’s America First Agenda Summit on Tuesday.
“Our country is now a cesspool of crime,” the former commander-in-chief said. “We have blood, death, and suffering on a scale once unthinkable because of the Democrat Party’s effort to destroy and dismantle law enforcement.”
Trump added: “We’re living in such a different country for one primary reason … there is no longer respect for the law and there certainly is no order.”
Pence, meanwhile, told an audience on Tuesday that conservatives should look toward the future.
“In order to win, conservatives need to do more than criticize and complain,” Pence said. “We must unite our movement behind a bold, optimistic agenda that offers a clear and compelling choice to the American people.”
During the Joint Session of Congress on Jan. 6, 2021, Trump issued a rare critical comment about Pence for taking part in the congressional certification of the 2020 election.
Trump wrote on his now-deleted Twitter account that the former vice president—before the breach of the Capitol—did not “do what should have been done to protect” the United States and Constitution.
The Epoch Times has contacted Pence’s Advancing American Freedom PAC for comment.
So even Biden is worried, thus his edited speech reading yesterday yelling about how you can’t support police if you supporting the minor trespass event on Jan 6th.
BTW, Brandon looked very weak and worried during that edited yelling video.
Pence was always the Bush League Republican mole in the White House.
He was part of the House leadership team of Boehner, Cantor, Ryan and McCarthy.
Only Bush League Republicans like Liz Cheney get into leadership.
Pence was the one who got Gen. Flynn fired and thrown under the bus to hobble Trump, Flynn knew what the IC was up to.
These Establishment folks that can hardly stand Pence are still encouraging him to run in hopes that he eats into Trump or DeSantis’s support, when he’s more likely to win over the old Jeb “base”.

This is not new. General Kellogg has always been pro Trump.
Pence is an Assistant Democrat so it comes naturally to him.
FINALLY!!!!!!
Keith Kellogg KNOWS who he would want to be in a Foxhole with....TRUMP, who has HUGE GUTS!
I don’t even blame Bush. The problem with Pence is that he is an Evangelical snake in the grass, chosen by the GOP because Trump had a lot of personal problems that the Evangelicals didn’t like (divorces, etc.) and the GOP needed Evangelical votes.
A lot of Evangelicals confuse being a Christian with being a supporter of the US government, whatever it is at the moment.
I think Pence honestly believes that he is perfect, Trump is a total sinner, and then he himself, Pence, is the chosen one.
He’s very stuffy and full of himself. I’m Catholic, btw, but it doesn’t even seem to me that Franklin Graham (an Evangelical whom I follow and generally like, because he’s an orthodox Christian, a good preacher like his Dad, and a believer in something other than himself) likes Pence very much.
And I think a lot of Evangelicals might have changed their minds after the last couple of years, so the GOP shouldn’t rely on Pence to attract them.
Once these assistant democrats open their trap, it’s over for them in todays climate.
But even Franklin Graham was encouraging his followers to get vaxed because Jesus would want you to.
A lot of these evangelicals are so much holier than we are you know. Very judgemental and usually turn out to be feminized like Pence or guilty of worse than they accuse Trump of. Like Jerry Falwell Jr.
Obviously I have a great lack of trust in Evangelicals.
Pence was the one who got Gen. Flynn fired and thrown under the bus to hobble Trump, Flynn knew what the IC was up to.
They bankrupted Flynn, he had to sell his house
his son was threatened with jail.
All because of Judas Pence questioning the Generals
truthfulness
The VP has a National Security Advisor? Does the President have one also?
I was DUPED also!!! I thought Pence was a stand-up guy......he’s a SWAMP WEASEL.....he’s just not as AWFUL as MOST of them, but he has NO COURAGE...NONE!!
Keith Kellogg KNOWS who he would want to be in a Foxhole with....TRUMP, who has HUGE GUTS!
Don’t feel rained on girl. We all were duped to this lemon-sucking little rat.....I noticed many times that Karen looked like she would rather be in a ring of hell instead of standing close to President Trump. I wonder if she’s the sanctimonious woman (pretender) I think she is and is pulling Pence’s strings?
Like the other traitor RINOmney, Pence never looks comfortable in his own skin.
Pence speech sounds like the typical old-fashioned boring political speel that is so out of touch with voters today. Too much crap has happened in the past 2 years to go back to same old, same old. We no longer want to “go along to get along” with the Democrats. In a way I hope Pence does run just to see how the establishment Republicans are going to handle the big fat NO we are going to give them.
Having studied the life of King David, I find that Trump is a pussycat in comparison.
Others may have caught Pence doing stuff during the first
45 months of Trump’s term in office, but I thought he
remained rather supportive, and didn’t openly contradict
Trump.
Since that time though, I’ve lost all the respect I had for
him. Like the GOPe and the RNC, most of the Republicans in
Congress, he just dismissed any thought that the election
could possibly have been stolen.
The default as soon as Trump won the election in 2016, was
that he was wrong on most everything, and would never be
right on much of anything.
Here was Pence during the last days of the Trump
presidency, still operating from that same bone-head
theory.
The Republican party threw away one of the greatest
opportunities of our lifetime, to get this nation back
on track.
Even now, with Biden destroying the nation, the most
they can do is talk down Trump some more.
Is it even possible to use a guillotine with their heads
having ASSumed the position?
These RNC/GOPe essentially went all-in with the Democrat
party. There’s just no denying it.
“ Pence was the one who got Gen. Flynn fired and thrown under the bus to hobble Trump, Flynn knew what the IC was up to.”
How did Pence do the above?
I strongly dislike Pence but I was unaware of the Pence/Flynn situation.
