Geopolitically and strategically, such an action would be against their interests. These events have the smell of the U.S. State Dept and CIA all over them.

You are obviously alluding to the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. Cuba wasn’t “importing” the missiles; the Soviets were bringing them in for their own purposes, to be under Soviet command and control. We did NOT invade Cuba in response. We initiated an embargo by sea of any offensive nuclear weapons, or assets or components or materiel for same.

I believe you’re absolutely right. I look at Flightradar24 fairly frequently. The U.S. or NATO are constantly flying reconnaissance aircraft near Ukraine. Why these are identified I can’t imagine, but they are. We know everything that goes on there. Right now, at this moment, there is a U.S. RQ-4B Global Hawk doing loops over the Black Sea.
