Critics are lashing out after a man carrying a pistol stopped a mass shooting at an Indiana shopping mall, arguing the man should not be called a "Good Samaritan."
"The term, ‘Good Samaritan’ came from a Bible passage of a man from Samaria who stopped on the side of the road to help a man who was injured and ignored," wrote CBS4 traffic anchor Justin Kollar on Twitter Monday. "I cannot believe we live in a world where the term can equally apply to someone killing someone… my God."

Correction: He selflessly placed himself in harms way to preserve the lives of people whom he did not know and had no professional or familial duty to help. That is the very definition of a Good Samaritan.
He gives me the impression he thinks he is smarter than any one else.

That’s an excellent point. Had the Good Samaritan arrived earlier and prevented the victim from being beaten and robbed, he would have been a Better Samaritan!
What’s got the libs panties bunched up is the fact that this story is being reported at all. It’s supposed to be blacked out like every other truth that blemishes their narrative.
Yeah, so guess how they would react to the accurate description: heroic citizen stops mass murderer.

That isn’t exactly right. He was saving his Girlfriend first and foremost. Grandmother of GF said she was proud of Eli. He told her to get down, took out the pistol, and shot dead the perp.
Leftist progressives are such more ons(more on this later) and they can’t seem to grasp the simplest fact that a “good samaritan” is someone who helps someone even though there is no requirement to. Unlike the blue that get paid to help...but don’t. This person didn’t have to even get involved and could have just walked away. Or hid in a hallway. Perhaps that is a better way to appease the more ons? Just my two cents.

When Babylonians took the Jews into exile, they didn’t take them all. Mostly they took the elites. The folks left behind were became the Samaritans. They diverged from the Exiles somewhat in religion and language. When the Exiles returned and reclaimed Jerusalem there was a lot of friction between them and the Samaritans. The Jews outright hated them, said they weren’t really Jews, etc. This lasted at least until Jesus’ day. That is why a Samaritan helping a Jew was a big deal, as was Jesus talking to a Samaritan woman.

He was a GOOD SAMARITAN!! I think I will say it again, and I truly believe that those who are still alive who were in that food court will agree with me.. He IS A GOOD SAMARITAN!!!

Maybe the cops are looking at this through the lens of Good Samaritan Laws which (somewhat) protect people who offer aid from being sued?
