Trump says he’s decided on 2024 run, waiting to make announcement: report

President Donald Trump said he has made up his mind about mounting another White House bid in 2024 and indicated that the only decision left is whether he announces before or after November’s midterm elections, a new report says.

“Well, in my own mind, I’ve already made that decision, so nothing factors in anymore. In my own mind, I’ve already made that decision,” Trump told New York magazine in an interview at his golf resort in Bedminster, N.J.

Initially, the 45th president remained coy about the timing of his decision, but then continued.

“I would say my big decision will be whether I go before or after,” he said. “You understand what that means?” he told the magazine.

He was then asked about the midterms and repeated the word.

“Do I go before or after? That will be my big decision,” Trump said. “I just think that there are certain assets to before.”

“Let people know. I think a lot of people would not even run if I did that because, if you look at the polls, they don’t even register. Most of these people. And I think that you would actually have a backlash against them if they ran. People want me to run,” he continued.

“Look,” Trump said, “I feel very confident that, if I decide to run, I’ll win.”

because the left will use it to gin up their voters to get to the polls. I think he should use his free reign for the next 4 months to get behind the right candidates, raise as much $$ as he can himself and then capitalize on the giant win in November by announcing his own campaign is official!

That’s kinda my point. If you hope a candidate won’t announce until after the mid-terms because the announcement would hurt you in the mid-terms, that’s not a very smart candidate to run!

Why would we nominate a guy who's going to be 78 years old when we could nominate a guy 30 years younger who actually served in the military, has a law degree, and talks about important issues rather than fixating on the 2020 election?

If you don't fix the cheating that went on in 2020 why do you think even your preferred candidate would win?

"Fixating", your term, is a pejorative term, a negative term, for what is really going on, highlighting the issue until it is fixed.

I take it you either don't care about the issue, or don't think it can be fixed?

In other words, the same old, same old rinos we’ve nominated since Reagan. No thanks, we tried that over and over and over and over. How many times are we going to let Lucy hold the football?

1. Trump's age is not a factor as he is showing no signs of slowing down. See all the rallies he is still doing. No signs at all of cognitive decline. In fact, he just seems to get stronger and healthier.
2. Being a Lawyer brings nothing to the job of President, in fact, in most cases, it is a negative.

I hope that, if he runs, that DeSantis would accept being a running mate for one term and then he could become President himself.

That would be the optimal combo, imo.

He will not make an announcement anytime soon. If he does he has to live by rules that he may not want. Of course he can also do some things with the protection of a candidate. But I doubt he wants the shackles of the election laws this early in the game. Unless he thinks that being a candidate shields him from the DOJ and Congress.

The one good thing that Donald Trump truly accomplished... He prevented Hillary from becoming President. If she’s the Democrat nominee he should run... If she isn’t, step aside and allow some young blood to be the next President.

Trump is the only one I would trust to do what’s best for America. I would really like him to be our point person for secession. We need to split America before the left destroys us all.

Realistically, Trump is not the strongest candidate the GOP could run in 2024.
