The leaders of Greece and Bulgaria on Friday marked the completion of a new pipeline that will supply natural gas from Azerbaijan to Bulgaria, whose vital supply of Russian gas was cut off in April amid the fallout over Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stressed the importance of the new link as an alternative supply line for Bulgaria, as neighboring Greece jockeys to become a regional energy transport hub.
Greece is also building a liquefied natural gas terminal off the northeastern port of Alexandroupolis, near Komotini, which Mitsotakis said would in the future provide additional gas for the new Greek-Bulgarian pipeline.

Maybe in Joe Biden's mind
Greece makes olive oil, not motor oil.
Carry on.
At least they're realistic....unlike Brandon.
Apparently Israel has large off shore gas deposits. Anyone know the real reason the planned pipeline to Greece and Europe has been stalled?
I’m surprised their woke-leftists couldn’t find some fish or mouse which would be affected by the pipeline, so they could cancel the whole project.
They need to step it up.

Our girl Victoria Nuland has her fingerprints all over the dead body.
“Greece and Europe has been stalled”
Turkey.
“Fossil fuels....no windmills....no solar panels....
At least they’re realistic....unlike Brandon.”
Yep.
I will say I have nothing against windmills. Extra income for farmers who want it for lease rights. But you need fossil fuel backup for when the wind doesn’t blow.
This is the hottest summer I’ve experienced in Austin in nearly 20 years I’ve lived here. Nearly every day has been above 100 this summer.
The climate pattern that has brought extreme heat this summer also reduces wind. So wind generation has been down.
You failed to mention the price and volume. China is set to get all the cheap and abundant gas very soon.
“Energy markets being remade.”
But they aren’t being remade fast enough to replace cheap Russian energy.
You are bluffing. Exactly how and from what Russian gas field? As of now there is only the Power Of Siberia pipeline and it is not high volume.
Germans and Europe have learned that Vlad's cheap energy comes at a high price. The high price of being blackmailed into accepting Russian conquest and imperialism. Thank God the Russian military is an effed up military.
Relations between the two former Soviet bloc allies have tanked in recent months, and last month Bulgaria ordered the expulsion of 70 Russian diplomats, triggering an angry response from Moscow."
You’re clueless, just babbling on with your usual nonsense.
Bulgaria has no border with Azerbaijan. Turkey has its own pipeline from Russia and Azerbaijan for gas (and oil), and can connect to Greece directly.
This new pipeline would not seem to do anything other than redistribute scarce gas from Bulgaria to Greece.
Yawn.....
Guess where Bulgaria gets it’s nat gas...
You still failed to mention the price and volume. Second and third Asian-bound lines are in work, and also the line to link the Asian and European pipeline systems inside Russia.
My RuZZian “friend”.
I think the article mentioned 3 BCF initially and expandable to 5 BCF. It didn’t mention price.
The Azi piped nat gas should be reasonably priced.
The LNG terminal being built will be for higher priced LNG. But price isn’t the most important aspect. Reliable supply is the important part.
“This new pipeline would not seem to do anything other than redistribute scarce gas from Bulgaria to Greece”
Don’t you have that backwards.
Isn’t Greece the hub to send gas to Bulgaria.
