The Left's Vile Pivot with the 10-Year-Old Ohio Girl Abortion Story

The Ohio abortion story has taken an odd turn. Here’s the story: a 10-year-old Ohio girl got raped. The attack resulted in a pregnancy, forcing her to travel to Indiana for an abortion. Joe Biden made this claim when speaking about abortion rights. It’s a tragic story. It also highlights the Left’s unhealthy penchant for rape and incest, which constitute less than one percent of abortions nationwide. Rebecca wondered if this was an accurate claim. So did The Wall Street Journal and other right-leaning publications since Democrats have a penchant for lying. Second, we didn’t have all the facts. One source held up this story, the doctor:

There's a new development in the story Joe Biden repeated from the White House last week of a ten-year-old Ohio girl who sought an abortion after being raped, subsequently being referred to a doctor in Indiana allegedly because Ohio's pro-life law restricted her options.

Reporting from The Columbus Dispatch appears to confirm the story repeated by Biden, but brings an inconvenient truth for Democrats who have spent weeks using the despicable crime to attack pro-life Americans. As it turns out, Democrats and the mainstream media have been repeatedly citing a situation in which a 27-year-old man who is 'believed to be undocumented,' according to The Dispatch, repeatedly raped a ten-year-old girl.

After the White House was unable to offer corroboration for the story Biden repeated and Ohio's Attorney General said he hadn't heard "a whisper" about any matching reports or filings, The Columbus Dispatch said Wednesday that an arrest had been made on Tuesday and charges were filed against a 27-year-old man who confessed to the crime.

The National Enquirer is far more authoritative and ethical than the NYT, Post, et al in the Propaganda Media.

.....rape and incest, which constitute less than one percent of abortions nationwide.

Skeptical - would like to see some stats to back up this statement. But regardless of the percentage of abortions that result from rape/incest, the number of pregnancies that result from it is likely much higher than “one percent.”

10- and 12-year olds can not legally consent to sex. Impregnating anyone under the age of consent is legally considered rape, and the law, common sense and compassion require they be identified and prosecuted.

yes i agree that the culture from the Southern Invaders are very casual with sex and minors.

So, close the border. Keep evil scumbags out.
The Left now has overstepped again. We are supposed to be angry that a 10 year old couldn’t get a local abortion, NOT that she was assaulted and raped by vile illegal that should not have ever been here.

There’s a useful word, scumbag. Scum bag.

Dualing tweet/comment chains adapt TV’s professional wrestling news format to (ironically named) smartphones. Neenerfests make personal nattering the important thing; who needs facts, ideas, or analysis?

In this story, who needs answers to the questions below to understand the national policy significance of the events:
How long was the rapist in the US? Did he walk across the border due to Biden’s open border policies? Did the US government transport him to Ohio? Does he have a “job” or live off benefits?
How did the victim come to be in the US?
Was the victim related to the rapist?
Did he live at the same residence? How is it that a 27 year old man had access to a 10 year old girl for repeated sexual depredation without anyone noticing? Where were the child’s PARENTS during all this?
Was the child being “trafficked” as a prostitute?
Rapist’s criminal history?
How far from Indiana did the child live? It’s not exactly a major trip to cross a state border.
Since Ohio law did not prohibit abortion in these circumstances, was the choice of clinic a matter of money (uninsured illegal alien child likely has no money for normal medical services)? Secrecy? Getting away from the rapist? Political exploitation?

Due to all of the hormones in the crap food being fed to children these days, puberty kicks in a lot sooner. It is creepy.

Perhaps a stupid question. Birth-control pills’ hormones find their way into the drinking water. Could that be a cause of early onset puberty?

If Matt Vespa thinks WSJ is conservative he may find higher pay with those middle-of-the-road guys at Rolling Stone, Mother Jones or The Atlantic.

Thanks for the link.

I am skeptical, but it’s because the last major study about rape-related pregnancies was in 1996, and that dated study is still providing statistics being used currently.

Rape-related pregnancy: estimates and descriptive characteristics from a national sample of women

As abortion has remained an important and newsworthy topic in the last 26 years, it’s oddly puzzling that there have been no major current studies about rape-related pregnancies - clearly a subject directly relevant to abortion. Especially with all the grant money the government floats around.

When examining rape and pregnancy statistics, a picture emerges that goes beyond just data. The personal and behavioral elements of rape-related pregnancy is not fully depicted in numbers alone. Studies provide context and background.

Underreporting of pregnancy due to rape is substantial. A majority of sexual assault victims do not go to the police. It follows (to me) that rape victims would also be reticent about their personal circumstances when seeking abortions. The hassle factor alone probably dissuades a lot of women, especially young women, from being honest with an abortion clinic if they were victims. But who knows what percent?

Instead of just supposing about these things, it would be nice to see an actual study done within the last 3-5 years.
