Also, if you recall, J. Michael Luttig was the alternative choice in 2005 to replace Sandra Day O'Connor (so either way we were getting the same type).

And Luttig is also Ted Cruz's favorite judge.

Graham had the foresight to know what would happen if the Republican base voter took control of the party.

How dare the actual voters control the party!

a safe choice for our democracy

We do not have a Democracy, we have a Representative Republic. Trump & the base are not the problem, you moderates are the problem. Time to get rid of all the moderates, not to save democracy, but to save the Republic, and freedom.

Establishment candidates(oligarchs/stooges)love owning the plantation, controlling it's workers, getting rich off the workers blood and sweat.

A not-so-secret society...but definitely Members Only.

Any attempts to wake up the sheeple(Trump/Brexit/etc.)must/will be neutralized.

They're but a few, but they control all...

...because they are too smart and powerful sheeple let them.

If the GOP thinks a Pence / Cheney ticket has a chance in hell they are mentally disturbed today the least.

This is basically an article of democrat/Uniparty talking points, and laughable on its face.

Calling 2020 a “free and fair” election is flat out dishonest.

How many rulings came down in WI alone declaring things done illegal? But let’s just ignore that.

Illegal curing of ballots by democrats, republicans follows the law… no thumb on the scale there…

Etc etc etc…

You can repeat the lie that 2020 was not an unfair election but the facts do not support that claim at all

“ This is about party elites finally taking back control of their party from their radical constituents”

This statement is the epitome of elitist fascism.

Reagan did us a big disservice by inviting the Neo-Con artists into the party. He should have left them with the Media-Dem Party where they rightfully belong. There was nothing “conservative” about them unless you call warmongering for never ending wars in the Middle East conservative.

Trump and his movement are in the position they are in because voters support them. I was wondering how a Pence/Cheney ticket might come about, and the author divulged her plan: forego primaries and have the party elite meet and make the choice. In other words, voters, it’s a big club and you ain’t in it.

Of course, this is all balderdash, but it’s interesting that a person who wants to “save democracy” recommends eliminating democratic processes.

I am a “Principled Republican”. I am a true Conservative who opposes Trump and his ignorant savages. I stand on true conservative principles such wide open borders and yearly increases of work visas to help reduce labor costs for my donors. I will also covertly support nationalized health care to help them reduce health costs pushing those costs on the American taxpayer. I support increasing student and work visas for the Chinese to help them build their infrastructure. I support exporting American jobs and technology to help the development of other nations proving that American is a good global citizen. I support sending American soldiers to hot spots around the globe to assist the U N with it’s goals and leaving Europe & Japan free to increase their wealth by offloading their defense costs on us. I will support activist judges and bureaucrats who will implement unpopular edicts which I approve of while telling my voters there’s nothing I can do about it. I support restructuring elections so that the right people are put in charge. I support political prosecutions and censorship of the media to crush dissent so we can move forward in the right direction. I will always do my utmost to help my friends the Democrats so we can get things done for our donors. Every election I stand for I may have to lower myself to say things to fool my voters but once safely reelected I can again stand firm on my “Principles”.

I’m all in favor of Pence and Cheney teaming up. They will both be utterly destroyed.

They think Trump has a cult of personality among the MAGA base. Not so. Its just that we agree with his policies, he showed he actually keeps his word, and above all the is against the RINOs. So are we! I’ll happily support DeSantis or the next MAGA candidate who comes along if he follows the same policies Trump has on securing the border, staying out of stupid wars and putting America first. Most of all, I am against the RINOs and I am against the uniparty.

They certainly don’t have America’s interests at heart nor my interests at heart. They are corrupt globalists who see America as nothing more than a source of cash and cannon fodder to get them what they want.

“A 2024 ticket of former Vice President Mike Pence and Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney might just be the thing that saves the Republican Party and our republic.”

I’m sorry, how can you expect anyone to actually read an article that starts with such buffoonery? Life’s too short.

The establishment GOP side of the Uniparty is in the process to deny the MAGA voters Trump to vote for.

They know the RATS are godawful and see 2024 as the perfect opportunity to take back the party. They really believe if Trump is out of the picture that we will go back to the “lesser of two evils”voting as we did in the past.

They are unable to see that MAGA voters and other from all walks who joined them are simply not going to vote for RINO uniparty assistant democrats in 2024. I can’t think of a bigger mistake than running Pence or Cheney. That is a guaranteed loss.

They may get their worthless party back, but it will mean nothing if it doesn’t represent the will of voters.

Maybe being the party of losing is what they are striving for.

No matter what anyone thinks of Trump, to say that “a 2024 ticket of former Vice President Mike Pence and Wyoming Rep. Liz Cheney” might save the GOP shows the writer is delusional and understands not that Trump’s support is the PRODUCT of a GOP base, not the creation of Trump as much as Trump has been its benefactor, and Pence and Cheney will not earn the confidence of that base, because they can’t. Trump moved to where the GOP base is, not the other way around. The “never Trumpers” will never understand that.
