Vice President Kamala Harris was interviewed by Keke Palmer in New Orleans, Louisana over the weekend as part of Essence Festival, but the bright lights and official backdrop behind the two women couldn't distract from one problem: Louisiana was misspelled on the official signage.
Yep, whether it was Essence Fest or the West Wing that had final approval over the backdrop, the typo went unnoticed by everyone...until it was too late. There, as Harris and Palmer talked about the state of the country (more on that later), was LOUSIANA in giant letters over the vice president like the midterms loom over her party.

“Isn’t that the way the natives pronounce it...”
I was gonna say...hooked on phonics might not’ve been the way to go when creating that sign.
But at least it is not something important. Like potato.
“Well I’ve never been to eurpoe before so I am enjoying my first visit here.”. Jackle kackle!!!!!!
“… Keke Palmer in New Orleans, Louisana…”
Corrected by the time I got to the article.
No, it’s spelled correctly. Lousiana is one of the 57 states Obama referenced.
And here I thought Harris would NEVER forget missing an “I” when she speaks.
Spellcheck is a symbol of white supremacy.
Lousy-Anna. LOL
But “Weezy” is always an appropriate nickname for a lady from Louisiana.
So there’s that.
Good thing they weren’t on Tchoupitoulas Street.
“Louisiana was misspelled on the official signage.”
Having lived in NOLA area for over 20 years, my hobby was hunting for misspelled signage and there was plenty. No doubt someone local made that sign :) ;)
I love you, Louisiana.
Part of the Essence Festival? Well, that explains it.
She is as memorable and effective as Dan Quayle and Walter Mondale, combined.
I still have my New Orleans “Pubic Affairs” name tag somewhere. That was the funniest. Another was a sign in a Bywater laundromat with a dozen words in it—10 of the words were misspelled.
They should have axed’ other people for spelling help..
That's Weezyana!

“my hobby was hunting for misspelled signage “
Me too lol. Here in L.A. it’s all over the place. My fave is a t-shirt printing shop in the fashion district, of all places, and it said “your favorite colers come alive!”.
My GF was laughing. I think 2 months later, we came back to the same street and it now says “colors”.
Lousiana (which is how plenty of people pronounce it) isn’t as bad as Townhall’s Louisana (which is how absolutely no one pronounces it).
