President Donald Trump could be planning to make an unusually early announcement of his plans to run for president, but not all Republicans are convinced it would be the right move for the party.
Trump has long teased a 2024 White House run and has continued to hold campaign-style rallies, all while stopping short of saying definitively if he plans to enter the race. However, recent revelations from the House Select committee's hearings on the January 6 insurrection are impacting his plans, according to a report from The New York Times.
Now, Trump is considering announcing a run far earlier than expected, possibly even this month, in part as an attempt to distract from the hearings, the outlet reported.

Been here longer than you, fool.
They're going to run on abortion rights. That's all they have.
It waits to be seen if this is an effective campaign message.
The GOP needs to ignore the issue. It has already been settled by Dobbs. They should concentrate solely on the economic disaster that we are currently suffering. Let the Democrats try to win back voters with talk about killing babies. Republicans should focus on the economy and not get baited into hypothetical "what if..." scenarios.
I think I worded that poorly. My mistake.
I think the campaign finance law laws change as soon as you “announce.” It places restrictions on just about everything to do with fundraising.
It was more of a comment on the logistics of a campaign rather than the candidate.
It’s one reason why people tend to announce later AND why the conventions have been pushed to August rather than late July.
See my 83. It’s. Campaign finance logistical issue rather than a “you cannot announce” issue. My mistake.
Announcing now could put a crimp in their plans to arrest him on some bogus charge - because even the sheep would see that as a political move against a leading candidate.
I think Trump's fear is that he's taking a hit from the January 6th committee without any way of hitting back. Announcing would take attention away from them, at least for a while.
I'm not sure his announcing would have that effect.
Why announce now?
Keep people guessing
LOL! Do you really think that anyone out there doesn't think he's going to run?
Business Insider is a hard left propaganda organ ... not a word they publish should be believed ...
They would just file charges and arrest everyone who was around him at the time.
“a report says. Some Republicans worry he could hurt them in the midterms.”
A REPORT says? Do reports TALK? What kind of report? By whom?
“Some Republicans” OH THOSE Republicans.
Why even bother to read this hit piece? (I didn’t)
“Absolutely agree, in addition he has to act more presidential. Cut out the name calling, stick with whar he will do. Dont turn off the suburban women”
i do so enjoy watching a pair of anti-trump trolls play together ...
Some Republicans? LIKE RINOS? My biggest wish is the RINOs get the hell out of our lives.
Annouce immediately. The Jan 6th Commission thinks it has enough time to have the DOJ indict.
He should file and announce simultaneously and be prepared to fend off the lefty DOJ.
The ones who worry Trump can hurt them are the incumbent RINO scum. And they should worry. Trump is gutting the Republican party day by day. Great change are coming if the vote fraud can be stopped.
Agreed. Take the house and put Trump in as speaker. We cant wait.
Clearly you’ve not listened to a rally speech lately. Trump is all over that stuff.
Oh yeah, Trump has nothing but sour grapes. Get out of here moron.
Trump has not given any credibility to the J6 shame. What the hell are you talking about?
