Navy Cancelling Early Separation; Offering Extensions for Retirement, Separation
USNI News ^ | June 30 2022 | Heather Mongilio

The Navy is canceling early separation programs and encouraging delayed separation as it aims to retain more sailors, especially in sea billets.

The Navy announced the cancellation of enlisted early out programs, as well as waivers for new time-in-grade requirement, in NAVADMIN 142/22, released on June 22.

Under the policy, service commitments, which include enlistment contracts and permanent changes of station, will be fulfilled. Anyone who has trouble completing their service requirements should work with their chain of command and/or detailers to figure out alternatives.

Those seeking commissions are still encouraged to do so, with those requests considered on a case-by-case basis.

(snip)

However, the reasoning behind the NAVADMIN changed between the copy on the Navy’s website and a draft accidentally posted. The original text, first reported by Military.com, had the reasoning for the NAVADMIN as concerns about the recruiting environment and sailor losses due to COVID-19 vaccine separations.

“As the Navy shifts into an environment of sustainment, retention of every capable Sailor will be critical to the operation readiness of the Navy,” according to the draft. “Due to the uncertainty regarding COVID-19 Pandemic vaccination losses and the recruiting environment, where competition for talent is especially tough, the Navy is opening the aperture for additional [force management] personal policy levers to retain Sailors.”

And there’s the Harvey Milk?

Sad that democRATs consider so-called 'Navy veteran' Milk's behavior with young boys in the bath houses in and around San Francisco on par with the heroism displayed by Dorie Miller against Japanese Kamikaze pilots.

Any time the military screws with separations, there are a whole bunch of members who make the determination to get out at their first opportunity.

Had a job lined up? Too bad.

Enrolled in courses for next semester? How sad.

Yes, an early out isn't a guarantee but it's damn insulting that the number crunchers in Manpower couldn't foresee the drop in new enlistments AND the surge of regular separations.

Next step is Stop Loss.

They want to draft women so a compromise can be made to lower standard and pay mercenaries from foreign countries to replace Americans.

You could be right on that as well.
A strategy to subjugate the US into the international order.

Too many ‘Sailors’ have never spent a single day at sea. Strange how the supporting commands’ manning was always higher than any ship I ever served on. Time to empty the cozy offices and make them deploy.

Wokeism, etc.
Keep it up armed services.
I am sure it will make hitting them recruiting quotas easier.
Not.

This article = a desperation move....much in the same vein as removing high school diploma requirements........

"I do believe that we are being set up for war..."

I believe we're being set up for COLD war. It's just another way to fleece the public as they live in fear of nukes.

Putin will probably use the same opportunity to fleece his people.

Rid the USN of “woke” and LGBTQ and they won’t have to worry about manpower.

A relative of mine in the navy had refused it based on religious grounds. Denied. But they told him he could leave with honorable discharge and he said fine. Date came and went then they asked if he would stay with no jab and he said I’d rather be discharged. Then they came back with you can be discharged but you must withdraw your religious exemption and he said no even though they had denied it. Now they are back with he finish’s his enlistment stateside, no deployment in reserve status, no jab, he said fine but I’m not withdrawing my religious exemption request. He’s lost all faith in navy leadership. It’s a social sh&t show at this point. Lots of people are going to be killed in a shooting war because of this ongoing social experiment.

Obama’s successful subverting our military forces and academies, thanks in part to former Admiral Kirby’s shilling for Obama and even Biden and the traitors in Congress.

Long ago, I was in a unit during a stop-loss order. Soldiers weren’t allowed to leave, even if their enlistment times were up. No one whined about it, but we were a line combat unit with combat platoons.

The competent are leaving and the DOD is just finding out now that the purple haired trannies can’t actually perform any of the duties or operate any of the expensive tax dollar funded toys.

...lost all faith in navy leadership.

Like the medical profession, I thought it would take a generation for the military to regain the trust they squandered. Now I don't them ever restoring that trust.

The military is going to be forced to pay up front and dearly for talent, none of this "pay your dues and collect your pension." Few would start down that path of risk only to have some other Pfascist order them to take part in another medical experiment.
