I'm not sure what the new district lines are, but Casten's predecessor was Peter Roskam and Newman's predecessor was Lipinski, so I don't think the new district necessarily loves hard-left marxists like all the other Chicago-area districts. What's funny is that apparently about 43% of the voters were Newman's old constituents, and only 20% were Casten's, but he easily crushed her anyway (again, probably sympathy vote because his daughter died)
So, if we play our cards right, I could see the "Best case scenario" of being rid of Casten AND Newman next January. Pekau has a shot. Bailey, on other hand... well let's just say my "surefire" predictions have been wrong before!
Pekau is a poser. See your freepmail.
The parts of Newman’s district in the new district supported Lipinski in the last primary!!! That explains that.
