Amazon employees upset over the recent decision by the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade asked the company for “space and time” to “grieve” and “protest against this assault on our rights,” according to a leaked letter.
The petition was reportedly signed by hundreds of employees at the Seattle-based retail giant, according to Insider. A copy of the petition was posted online by the Twitter account “Libs of TikTok.”
The letter also demands that Amazon “cease operations in states that enact laws that threaten the lives and liberty of abortion seekers, either by denying healthcare in life threatening circumstances or by criminalizing abortion seekers and providers.”
Amazon’s human resources chief Beth Galetti on Friday implored workers to “be respectful of everyone’s perspectives” after arguments over abortion broke out on the company’s Slack platform. The fights reportedly erupted in the #christians channel, according to Insider.
“Many Amazonians are experiencing strong emotions following the recent US Supreme Court ruling,” Galetti wrote on Friday.
“As a company with 1.6 million employees, there are a lot of different viewpoints on this topic across our team, and we work to be respectful of everyone’s perspectives while also taking care of and supporting our employees’ personal medical needs.”

Anyone who thinks they have the “right” to kill an innocent baby is “sick” and “selfish” and beyond reasoning.
Oh, the humanity!!
Imagine being an employee and having the audacity to tell your CEO who they can have for customers and demanding time off from work because you are butthurt over some Supreme Court Decision?
Not the type of employee I would want in my operation, that's for sure. These people are poison.
Sure thing. Take the rest of the year off, without pay, of course.
I knew this was coming. The demand for sanctions against pro-life states will look like the sanctions against Russia.
I need a couple of weeks myself. Paid of course.
If Amazon had any balls, they would tell the petulant snowflakes an emphatic NO! Grieve on your own time. Or find a sucker company that will cave to your demands.
“what a bunch of drama queers..”
Looks like your auto correct got one right. :).
The letter also demands that Amazon “cease operations in states that enact laws that threaten the lives and liberty of abortion seekers, either by denying healthcare in life threatening circumstances or by criminalizing abortion seekers and providers.”

if Amazon is smart, this will be the first batch of employees to let go when the recession bites.
Meet Mr. Robot. This machine will not require potty breaks, abortion travel expenses, paid overtime, vacation time or union contract negotiations.
Sincerely,
Amazon Executives
Its the wimmin who are “grieving”, not the queers.
Pass out the crying towels.
Time off if they go to ukraine to fight
Send them a return letter.....in the color PINK.
What? Are they all in school? Sounds like childish nonsense from the generation who is going to get smacked by reality because this crisis in the economy is NOT DONE by a LONG SHOT.
It would be a wise business decision to grant a little leave to mourn the loss of abortion. That’s makes a compliant slave. It also makes good sense to provide transportation and pay for abortions for slaves in states where abortion are illegal. That provides minimal business disruptions and pays for itself in the long term.
Give them emotional support cobras.
Not only that but the legacy costs for providing health insurance for the dependent child/children until they no longer qualify.....
The manufacturing company I worked for in Detroit (UAW plant) was self insured with Blue Cross of Michigan being the carrier.
We had an hourly employee with an infant born with a severe disability. According to the health care plan, there was a maximum payment of I think $150,000 per year. Care for the in home care of the child easily exceeded that and when the insurance company stopped payments, the employee went to the union for help arguing his situation.
I'm not clear about the final outcome but I think corporate felt sorry for the guy and agreed to continue paying the medical bills. As expected, the child eventually died the following year.
I was in HR at the time and I was glad that the company showed the compassion and generosity that it did. Unfortunately it was wasted on this employee because he was one of the biggest jerks I had to deal with at the company. Oh well
Yes as a pro lifer I oppose mandates maternity leave.
It just makes women less likely to be hired.
And makes companies more interested in pushing abortion on their employees.
