[Veteran 68-76 here. I tell any young man or woman who is thinking about a career in the military to learn a trade, get experience and work towards your own business. But buy and own guns and become proficient with them because the battlefield will eventually be right here in this country.

That’s a really bad idea. The Southerners who resisted in the War of Northern Aggression were mostly led by combat veterans who had served in the Union Army. If the ructions you describe come to pass, we will need people in the military who not only can operate the full spectrum of equipment in the nation’s armory, but also have access to it. Any resistance must be mounted using the full panoply of arms in the nation’s inventory. After all, we paid for it - we should get our share.

Notice how Ukraine is hamstrung by the fact that it doesn’t have nukes or the vast majority of the weaponry to which the Russians lay claim. For us to win, we need everything from the basic M-4 carbine to Ohio class submarines with the full complement of SLBM’s. That won’t happen if only Democrats and progressives serve in the military.

If the war you envision comes into view, we will need more than our personal weapons to prevail. That’s where control of the nation’s arsenal, conventional and nuclear, comes into play. When Biden says Democrats will crush Republicans with F-15’s and nukes, he’s assuming they’re the only ones with F-15’s and nukes. And it’s patriotic young Republicans and conservatives interested in things military who will deny Democrats and progressives a monopoly on this loaded gun pointed at our collective heads.

IMO, the type of ‘resistance’ or ‘fight back’ you describe won’t be possible. Too much Federal money and brownshirt agency intrusion to allow that. Those people aren’t stupid. It’s why they’ve removed every top possible future cross-sider from its hierarchy and installed wokes like Ms. Milley at the JCS on down.

I really am not talking about anything within the realm of preserving the union of the status quo with just new leaders (which the left in charge will work their best to stop.) I am really talking about what will happen on the way back to square one.

Sounds like a politicized armed force with one faction holding the other in check to avert use of the states armed forces against its own citizens.

First would be the internecine battles.

I don’t trust the military or the government. Join the military with the idea that your presence would have any effect? That’s naive. Join and you are obliged to follow order and your constitutional rights are stripped.

If O’Biden decided to use the nation’s military against it’s own citizens, I believe many in the military would abandon the traitorous regime and head home to defend their families. I know I would. The “technical talent” you talk about would “walk away” with those true Patriots...along with quite a few weapons. Would you remain at post while soldiers of your very own Army are kicking doors down in your parent’s town?
