Google tells U.S. employees they can relocate to states where abortion is legal as lawmakers in Texas promise swift legal action against companies that fund out-of-state abortions

Google has told its workers in the U.S. that they will be allowed to move to another state without having to justify it following the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade which removed the constitutional right to abortion. But other companies who plan to help their workers travel across state lines in order to undergo terminations, may face the wrath of lawmakers who are threatening to introduce legislation to block or at least hinder such offers of support.

Freedom of movement within the United States is a well established constitutional right. A state cannot stop someone from going to another state for whatever reason. The Constitution explicitly states interstate commerce is the purview of the Federal Government. If Texas can attempt to stop women going outside the state then California can stop people from going to Texas.

I’m not an attorney, but what you’ve written makes sense.

This must mean then that liberal whackos are that less likely to invade Texas and other places to begin with.

Kavanaugh even addressed the issue in his concurring opinion, that there's nothing to prevent women from traveling out of state for an abortion, and it's not even "especially difficult as a constitutional matter" he made a point to stress.

Any state that tries to pass laws preventing women from traveling out of state for abortions will, at the very least, not have Kavanaugh on board, and probably none of the eight other justices.

I think this issue is a little different. People are obviously still free to leave the state of Texas for any reason including to get an abortion. This law involves the issue of whether businesses are within their right to help thwart this Texas law. In a sane world where our President isn’t trying to cripple our economy and country and drag us into WWIII, I would say let companies pay if they want to but we are well past that point. We need secession or at the very minimum an increase in the ascendancy of state’s rights to even survive as a nation.

How about a Life Bonus?

State law that any company paying for their workers birthing persons womb enabled peoples to get a bonus to kill their baby MUST match said payment to the women who decide to have their baby?

$4,000 to kill the baby must be matched as $4,000 to keep the baby.

So, if a googoo employee wants to transfer to a state without abortions, it will forbid employees free movement? Got it.

Relocating is different. If you are a Texas resident you are subject to Texas law. Does that make sense to you?

They can’t stop people from going anywhere however they can take away tax breaks for or impose other hardships on companies that do pay for it.

Illinois is already sort of an abortion destination. The last year the Chicago Tribune had statistics for showed 45,000 total. but that included 9,000 done on people who were not Illinois residents.

And the most abortions happened in 5 of 102 counties: Cook (all Chicago), Will, DuPage and Lake (Chicago suburbs), and St. Clair (Illinois suburbs of St. Louis.)

What else do these counties have in common? Poverty, gun violence, and a basic lack of a 2-party political system.

This is all too beautiful to be true, the hedonists leaving Red states to go back to blue states for legalized child murders.

So many contaminating hedonist citizens (whether they admit they are hedonists or not, their actions show they are) have temporarily delayed their impending economic doom by relocating to red states for their livelihood. Their filthy blue states are becoming what the Left’s society inevitably devolves to - cesspools of debauchery, slavery and totalitarian misery.

They’re not going to relocate to to a cesspool just to kill children in abortions. They’ll work feverishly to turn red states blue because they’re insane with hatred for Christ and moral man.

As someone else wrote, this is less about wokeism as it is about a corporation minimizing workforce departures to raise a family.

Forget about barefoot and pregnant...the leftist ideal for a woman is childless, ideally barren, in pumps, behind a desk.

Me too. If chicks get coin either way, dudes should get coin either way…

Since it’s their body, no more child support or alimony.

Why do you think corporate America encourages abortion? Far cheaper than Mom’s prenatal care, delivery charges, maternity leave, postnatal care, plus insurance coverage and daycare for new little person. Not to mention more work absences when the kid gets sick, school closes early because of weather or whatever. Or replacing an experienced employee if she decides to stay home and raise her child.

Corporate America loves Feminism for similar reasons. The women’s movement started out as equal pay for equal work for women who worked outside the home, and respect for the worth and dignity of women who were homemakers and the real value of their contributions. That quickly morphed into denigration of homemakers as “just housewives who stay home and bake cookies all day”, abortion on demand, and a cheaper labor pool.

Way back in the earliest days, there were two strands of the Women’s Movement. One opposed abortion and pornography as anti-woman (both violate and exploit women and go against their basic natures). The other was pro-abortion and fine with porn (according to their mainly lesbian leadership). Guess which one was better funded and won?

“$4,000 to kill the baby must be matched as $4,000 to keep the baby.”

Isn’t that simply a bonus for anyone that has a baby? A former employer gave $750 to an employee when they had a baby.

It was a gesture to help with expenses associated with having the baby.
