On Friday, when the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the 1973 decision establishing a woman’s constitutional right to an abortion, the three Democratic appointees — Justices Stephen Breyer, Elena Kagan and Sonia Sotomayor — wrote a forthright response casting the majority’s decision as a blow to women’s civil rights.
“With sorrow — for this Court, but more, for the many millions of American women who have today lost a fundamental constitutional protection — we dissent,” they wrote.
“Today, the Court … says that from the very moment of fertilization, a woman has no rights to speak of,” they continued. “A State can force her to bring a pregnancy to term, even at the steepest personal and familial costs.”
Citing laws that have already been passed in more conservative states and would now take effect, they warned of dire consequences in states that will now be free to ban abortion without exceptions for rape or incest, or when bringing a pregnancy to term risks the mother’s health.

Well, that’s a flat out lie.
No rights to speak of...
Except the same exact rights everyone else has.
If rape is such a problem, the second amendment is the right we should be using.
Easy for women to avoid rape:
1. Glock
2. Gun Range
Guaranteed to stop any would-be rapist.
I am done. These lib morons are intent or starting a shooting war. I will protect my family. It would be good for them if the libs STAY THE F^^K AWAY FROM ME!
What a pile of Obama droppings
Liberals are against the death penalty for the rapist, but want to kill the innocent baby.
“””’A woman will have to bear her rapist’s child’”””
Biden said that in his teleprompter reading yesterday.
Biden also said: “A woman will have to bear a child from an incest relationship”
Given the recent discussions regarding Ashley Biden’s diary, was Joe self incriminating himself?????
GMTA...was thinking exactly that...2nd amendment
Which parts are lies?
Red Herring Alert!!
Did overturning R v Wade outlaw abortion?
How many children are conceived in rape each year?
The dissent is irrelevant. The feds including the Court have no constitutional jurisdiction over abortion nor over state anti-abortion laws.
Go pound sand.
Is every child not a gift from God, Sean Hannity?
Again - and really, I am not saying this because I want to fight, so please STAND THE EFF DOWN, thank you - this is just absolute horse manure.
‘A woman will have to bear her rapist’s child’
ER doctors and nurses offer various measures to rape victims in case they may have conceived via rape. They’re not going to stop doing that. If you get raped and decide not to go to the ER, you’ve still got plenty of time to take action. If you’re a sex-trafficking victim or kidnappee, then all the laws in the world are not going to help you. Roe v Wade didn’t help rape victims any more than the Man in the Moon.
If the courts and law enforcement pushed to end human and sex trafficking (and there are still lots of busts being made, I notice - thanks to Trumpy changing the face of our courts system), and to end illegal immigration, I would bet you $100 (if I had $100) that incidents of rape would go WAY, WAY down.
So what is the constitutional principal for their dissent?
But it is OK to kill the innocent, makes perfect sense.
so if a woman gets raped, and gets pregnant, she won’t have to carry and deliver her rapists baby?
Okay.
What about the other 99.9% of abortions?
“...who have today lost a fundamental ‘constitutional’ protection...”
Liars.
With the exception of violence which is another matter, they had the right to not get pregnant in the first place.
To anyone who hasn't read my posts and is ready to blast me for being sexist, I've basically the same thing to men. If they're not ready to have children, keep it zippered. If a man is man enough to breed them, then he's man enough to feed them.
As for rape, if it's proven the pregnancy was a result of rape, then I have no problem with charging the rapist with murder if the child is aborted.
