No doubt, and this is a great ruling. But I'm not convinced it's really a matter of states' rights. If an unborn baby is really a human being, the protection of its life is a constitutional, hence federal, matter.
Where have you been the last 50 years? Has Fed.gov, controlled top-to-bottom by progressives and now woke radicals and their massive intelligence and law-enforcement apparatus done anything but expand abortion?
Okay.....let’s equivocate some more, then. How about not a “States’ Rights” issue but rather a “Not a Federal Matter?”
There was a reason for the Tenth Amendment. To keep matters to SPECIFICALLY enumerated powers and prohibitions as defined by our founding document.
The Court has reversed itself on very many occasions. This is a 50 year mistake corrected. If Democrats and ‘progressives’ don’t like it they can do their worst and start work (as everyone knows they will) on trying to subvert it. But for now, they’re just gonna have to wail and shout at the sky.
A pregnant woman takes a bus ride from Utah to Nevada, for example, and her fetus magically changes from a human being to a clump of cells when the bus goes over the state line.
Even if, murder is a state crime, not a federal one.
You’re morally right. I’m think a incremental victory is better than none. Some babies created in God’s image are going to survive because of this.
