Donald Trump has shared a poll indicating he would comprehensively beat Ron DeSantis for the 2024 Republican nomination for president amid continuing speculation the Florida governor is planning on announcing his candidacy.

The former president shared the results of a recent Zogby Poll on Truth Social on Wednesday that indicated that he is still an overwhelming favorite to clinch the Republican nomination should he choose to run.

The survey shows Trump has the backing of nearly 54 percent of votes from Republican primary voters—just under five times the amount that second place DeSantis received (11.5 percent).

We’ve been through this before. DeSantis hasn’t said that he won’t run if Trump runs. He has side-stepped the question every time he has been asked. You, nor nobody else can produce a direct quote that proves otherwise. There have been some people who have said that they didn’t think DeSantis would run.
You are right that the important thing is that we win in 2024.

Pompeo/DeSantis.....Pompeo is 10 years older and has the Foreign Policy experience/knowledge/connections so critical at this time.

Polls are meaningless right now. They are rarely relevant this early in the cycle.

Can someone please provide a video, quote, or link that Desanstis said he won’t run if Trump does? I see 2 or 3 people on here saying it 500 times a day, but no evidence.

All Trump did was repost a poll. Nothing wrong with that. What some of YOU guys did yesterday in posting a rigged poll and saying Trump’s days are over is SAD.

Not me. I haven't decided yet about Don v. Ron. But I knew Politico (and now Newsweak) was trying to start a fight between them, and wondered who would take the bait first, as it would show some level of desperation. I did not think Trump would do so within HOURS!

“Trump would implore his voters to sit out the General.”

Really? What a troll.

It’s Yahoo, but I don’t have time for a longer search…
It seems to not really contain an exact quote.

Within the party? I can see that.

In a general election? Trump doesn’t win that.

Of course it will. That is the purpose of the primaries.

“I really hope this primary season doesn’t descend into another stupid intra party squabble. We really cannot afford it now.”

Any time you see a Trump vs. DeSantis story, look at the news organization pushing it. Newsweek, AP, Yahoo, etc.

They have been working very hard to drive a wedge between Trump and DeSantis, unsuccessfully.

Trump and DeSantis know each other, like each other and will support each other. They’ve actually said this, (but the media doesn’t report that — Shh!)

I think the perfect scenario would be him running as Trump’s VP in 2024.

Perfect scenarios do not exit. Trump wins in 2024. Gavin in 2028 and 2032. DeSantis in 2036. By then, he'll be old news.

> It’s my understanding that both candidates cannot be from the same state (Florida)... <

They can. But the state’s electors cannot vote for both of them.

So let’s say Trump and DeSantis ran together in 2024. And both lived in Florida. And they won Florida. Florida’s GOP electors could vote for Trump for president. But they could not vote for DeSantis for vice president (or the other way around).

So Trump and DeSantis would not have the same number of electoral votes. That wouldn’t matter unless the race was close nationally. Trump could end up being elected president with the Democrat VP candidate being elected vice president.

I think that’s the way it would work.

Desantis could prevent that by making it clear how he's not running n '24 and fully supports Trump. He should do this the day Trump announces.

Nothing wrong with Trump reposting a poll. If you want to CREATE something that is your problem.

“DeSantis is still really young (early 40’s), I think the perfect scenario would be him running as Trump’s VP in 2024.”

As appealing as that is, Florida, and WE, need DeSantis right where his is, managing FL.

Remember how that state’s elections were a mess with that Brenda Snipes down in Miami/Dade ushering in the fraud in every way possible? recounts and dangling chads was her specialty.

Brend Snipes, Ruby Freeman, and on and on. These Democrat fraudsters are EVERYWHERE!

Notice once the election integrity was a focus in FL, how much more red FL became?

That is not an accident.

That is for certain. Trump and DeSantis need to get together and discuss this.

“I understand how you feel, but seeking revenge is not the way to win elections.”

No, but it’s a damn good motivator not only for Trump, but for every single one of us that KNOW the 2020 election was stolen.

There a lot of ways and reasons to win an election. Not being fraudster and failure Joe Biden is good enough for a great many!
