MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough on Thursday touted the House Select Committee’s primetime hearings over the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.
Scarborough agreed with The Atlantic’s Caitlin Flanigan, who said she was as “riveted” by the hearings as her parents were with the Watergate hearings. The MSNBC host added he didn’t think the American people would care about the hearings but noted that the “numbers have been staggering.”

Scarborough’s marketing is inept. Lots of voters today weren’t even alive during Watergate. Hell, a lot of them don’t even remember Lewinksygate.
The Watergate hearings were not compelling either so maybe it is an apt comparison.

How old was Scarborough then, anyway? I’m certain he was not listening to them. They were BORING!!! The worst thing that Nixon did was to lie about the event then destroy several minutes of tapes. He resigned.
They try to liken the J6 event as an insurrection, but as an article stated the other day...if this was a planned insurrection, how come nobody came with AR15s and the like? Because people planned to come to the speaking events and got goaded into doing some things that they didn’t plan to do in the first place. But since when have people been prohibited from entering the Capital building, which like the WH belongs to the people? Yes, there is decorum and normally you’d seek an appointment to have a tour, but when someone from the inside opens the door and invites you in...wouldn’t you think that it was okay and not a set-up in order to arrest as many MAGA as possible?
