Actor Matthew McConaughey was spotted on Capitol Hill on Monday and Tuesday, after endorsing gun control laws in an op-ed in the Austin American-Stateman.
The Failure to Launch star was seen by reporters meeting with Senate Democrats Dick Durbin (D-IL), Joe Manchin (D-WV), and Republicans Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Susan Collins (R-ME).

Actually, I think felons who have completed their sentences (i.e. not incarcerated or on parole) should have their rights back.
If this makes people afraid, perhaps longer sentences would be handed out and fewer felons would get out early.
My rationale is that if they aren’t in the system, they have served their debt to society. And if they haven’t served their debt, they shouldn’t be free in society.
I disagree with some of it, including his casual use of the term “assault rifle”
One man's "Assault Rifle" is another man's "Patrol Carbine".
These people have dealt in bad faith for so long it takes a special kind of stupid to take anything they say seriously.
There are laws upon laws upon laws against this sort of thing, all of them selectively enforced only against those least likely to commit such crimes. And there were at least three or four layers of institutional failure here and in every other such case.
In the end you are simply giving up freedom and gaining nothing. Again. And again. Which makes you that special kind of stupid.
Sure am glad to see one "professional liar" (i.e., an actor) meeting with a bunch of other "professional liars" (i.e., career politicians) to come up with an alternative to the Bill of Rights...
He’s wanting to run for political office.
His hometown is Uvalde, also home of the coward cops who would not rescue school children from a trans shooter fame.
Good insight; I hadn’t thought of it that way.
I loathe and despise him, for what he’s doing.
I’m willing to listen to reasonable arguments. Can we please start with why current gun laws on the books are not being enforced? Can we ask why Hunter Biden, a crack cocaine abuser, is not sitting in jail? Can we ask why the FBI had knowledge and familiarity with so many of these shooters yet no positive action was ever taken? Can we ask why its not OK to have armed guards walking school halls protecting lives? Can we have reasonable talks about why democrat cities with the toughest gun laws are the worst offenders especially Chicago? Can we question why the Govt continues to try and unarmed its law abiding populace? Can we talk about the confiscation of one fire arm will lead to abolishment in steps of our rights and freedoms? Can we talk about the logic which states if you take guns from the lawful only the criminal will have weapons? And it goes on and on .
Someone needs to remind Democrats that police tend to arrive at a crime scene once the crime is in process. There is no such thing as thought crime, despite what the movie “Minority Report” is about.
The usual suspects. As for Manchin, he’s still a Democrat and that is worth about abuse every single day. He is not on our side. He needs to be replaced. Do you hear that West Virginia?
The first people on the scene at the Beslan school were the armed fathers of the kids.
This wasn’t a meeting. It was a clown show. A movie star who wants to confiscate guns covered under the Second Amendment? Little Matty can KMA. Liberal elitist Hollowoodies don’t impress me none.
McConaughy just STFU and stick to acting. You have no idea what you’re talking about.
Disarming good people doesn’t make bad people harmless.
This is a stupid statement on his part and if wants to sacrifice his guns (yet keep his body guards and safety detail) go ahead.
He doesn’t speak for nor does he have the right to speak about what anyone else should sacrifice. Namely, safety and the ability to defend one’s self, family, and property.
He’s not the only person who ever lived in Uvalde, his opinion is his opinion. The fact that he’s in DC running his mouth means the swamp turds believe he can have an influnce on disarming the Untited States.
No, thank you. And I’m done with him no matter how handsome I think he is.
Why does anyone listen to a guy who’s famous for saying, like a numbskull, “All right, all right, all right” which was written by someone else?
Who the hell cares what a “make-believe actor” idiot/moron/lowlife thinks or says?

I wish I could boycott him.
I can and I do.
The CATV/ ROKU has a channel changer, and so does iHeart on my desktop.
Oh God, we are screwed now. Not Matthew McConaughey. Oh Noes……….
Who would be making that sacrifice to make you feel righteous and oh so virtuous you or med?
Why ME of course! Go away ash hole.
Fixed it.
