Despite Donald Trump's own followers booing and calling Republican House leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) a “RINO,” the ex-president sent out a statement late Saturday night endorsing McCarthy in his quest for 2022 re-election. “Congressman Kevin McCarthy is an outstanding Representative,” Trump wrote, calling the GOP House leader “strong” and “fearless.” However, after posting the endorsement to his Truth Social platform, Trump's followers expressed disappointment in the comment section.

“Would you rather a California Democrat hold that seat?”

Really? you mean there might actually be a difference between Lying McCarthy and a democrat?

Who knew!

“...He lost my vote with his Dr Oz endorsement in my Commonwealth of Pennsylvania...”

Same here. I am no longer giving a penny to Trump. I get bombarded by text and emails from his PAC and Trump Jr. I will be blocking those text messages from now on. Trump is no longer MAGA. He has become a willing ally and enforcer of the establishment. Perhaps the January 6th inquisition has blackmailed him? I don’t get it.

Just look at the replies on truthsocial.

Most are along the line of; Ok, whatever you say sir.

Trump got cheated out of his second term because of the RINO’s complicity in the Dems’s 2020 Big Steal made possible by little steals to set it up in 2018. Now Trump is endorsing more RINOs. Trump’s greatest political weakness has been his desire to polish his image by endorsing RINOs hostile to him and his agenda. Trump has failed to acknowledge that the Republican Party needs to be lustrated of RINOs as the first order of business. McCarthy is RINO, who supports RINOs. He needs to be retired promptly.

Yes, you can see the few here who attack anyone who disagrees with their Lord Trump.

Fortunately, many of us think for ourselves and do not get lost in personality.

I think a lot of them are older women who have fallen head over heels for him. Love is blind.

Then you have the young gullible (Q - Anon - trust the plan) types that still think he’s playing 4D chess.

I’m not disputing the truth of it. I just KNOW that the liberal media loves loves loves to divide us. They know they can’t point out other things Trump has done to cause us to turn on him so they decide to try to divide us by things like this. I’m not the biggest fan of mccarthy, BY FAR, but I’m trying to keep my eyes on the big picture. And, the big picture is we are moving in the right direction by replacing so many rinos and enemies of the people and Trump is leading that charge. He’s the first Republican that I can ever remember, that proactively works at getting these wicked people out of office that are in OUR party. Even Reagan poo poo’d that

I don’t think he’ll support him as Speaker, just for re-election because he probably doesn’t have a primary challenger. Or does he?

If we stay republican we have to work with rinos because that is who the republican party is. It is mostly made up of rinos. Take a Look around. Trump chose to stay republican so... A new party would likely be murdered by the establishment I’m sure. I’d like to start a new party anyway. It would be a good platform for revolution.

I doubt that is the case at all. He pissed off both the right & the left. while he still got a remarkable portion of his promises to become enacted, he missed others due to his attacks. A smart person realizes mistakes, and makes changes. Now if he were to endorse McConnell again, well.....

No, Trump just has a lenghthy history of being a poor judge of character which has often come back to bite him. This is just one more bad choice of who to support or of who to let into his inner circle ... and is a flaw in Trump’s otherwise lenghthy history of success.

I knew he was going to support McCarthy. I wish he would have criticized Mitch McConnell more when he was President. He sucked up to him, then criticized him after Jan. 6th.

3-D chess strategy to smoke out the RINOs, or so I’ve been told.

Trump is losing touch with his own base. Sadly that seems to be the natural affect of “ progress “

It is almost like he is trying to intentionally weaken his support.

Maybe he just wants to return to a normal life for his last few years and spend it with his family without being called a quitter.

Turning on Trump over this issue is stupid.

I’ve never supported Trump 100%, but then, who really has?

That doesn’t make him a pariah.

He’s still my pick for 2024.

I can and have disagreed with him on several issues.

He withdrew his support for Mo Brooks in Alabama, but I still voted Mo.

Trump’s still a good guy. McCarthy is a hack and should be opposed.

I know the Surrender Monkey Caucus is dancing around the fire because it is easier to react than to think, but let me pour some cold water on this celebration.

There is no particular love for McCarthy on Trump’s part
he is not endorsing McCarthy because he thinks he is wonderful. Trump has endorsed McCarthy to take away McCarthy’s chance to gab “aggrieved party status.”

Why would Trump give McCarthy ammunition to snipe at him and call him disloyal?

I know it is difficult to think sometimes but this one is easy to figure out.

Wait for another “reason” to declare that the democrat/communists are going to hold the House and gain seats in the Senate because this isn’t one.

Trump’s endorsement is helpful in drawing attention to a lesser known candidate, and he has been pretty effective at getting these people elected.

In McCarthy’s case, Trump has his reasons for endorsing him. We don’t have to obey. At least for the primary, if there is someone better (and almost anyone in the Bakersfield phonebook would be better) then vote for that guy. For me, I’m not interested in any politician who was silent on the stolen election, or has done nothing to correct the election processes for next time.

Obviously, in November, you vote R when your only alternative is a D. But whoever you vote for, if they can’t admit that 2020 was stolen, don’t expect miracles from the guy.

Don't know anything about them

https://ballotpedia.org/California's_20th_Congressional_District_election,_2022

One guy can't even upload a pic of himself and no links to social media or website and the other has twitter/facebook but no website and evidently not much money to campaign

Pretty much McCarthy vs a dem. Either a school teacher, https://ballotpedia.org/Marisa_Wood or a meteorologist, https://ballotpedia.org/Ben_Dewell

Both at least have websites.
