White House Council of Economic Advisers member Jared Bernstein on Thursday pointed to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine for the record-high inflation and gas prices in the United States.
Bernstein told MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” that the stimulus packages were “integrally contributing to some of the remarkable economic statistics” posted during President Joe Biden’s time in office.

Sadly, one in five Americans beleive these DC creeps.
29% of respondents (hardcore libtards) believe what they are told regardless of how long inflation has actually existed 🤪
Did he happen to mention the effect of the embargoes on Russian commodities?
Every one of FR’s neocons will tell you it’s worth it. And all the Democrats too.
Two peas in a pod.
Hillary blamed her loss on Putin, now it’s gas prices and inflation. In November the Dems will blame Putin for their historic losses.
Russia has nothing to do with it.
Attack domestic oil production and you get steep price rises (before the invasion). This isn’t inflation per se, but the increase in fuel costs ripples throughout the economy and looks a lot like inflation.
Shut down the economy for a year, and print money to cover the gap, and you get real textbook inflation. Keep printing money to cover your dream budget, and you further inflate the inflation.
An easy way to start turning this around would be to encourage domestic production. Encourage the completion of the (almost finished) pipeline. That move alone would send a signal that the brokers would immediately respond to, and you’d see an immediate reaction in the pricing. I say this knowing they do not want to do this, and don’t give two hoots about ending inflation.
Bernstein is very wrong. When Biden and the Dems shut down oil production and inked the Russian Oil Pipeline To supply all of Europe, Biden funded Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. This maneuver gave Putin 1 billion dollars per day and forced the USA into a recession. The Hurricane is coming unless the Dems and Biden reverse themselves quickly. There may not be an election in November.
Odd? Inflation was well on its way long before the Russian invasion. Indeed, distillate fuel prices had almost double before that and those price hikes rippled through the economy like the plague. Hey, Joe! Try something different...like telling the truth and point to your own policies and EO’s as the cause of the current economic problems, from inflation to negative economic growth. You, Sir, are an economic twit.
Our Neocon FReepers agree with Biden; it’s Putin’s fault.
They take no responsibility for the consequences of their actions. They blame things that they essentially helped create, as the impetus for the problem. People suffer, and they refuse to address their mistakes, take note of the “i warned you” people as prophetic.
They have no way to fix inflation because they cannot accept that they created it in the first place with greed and flawed logic. People will have to suffer much more, since they can no longer have legitimate elections and the delusional are running the government.
Well Heck yeah. Don’t take a ‘wh’ adviser to reach that conclusion . NOT! 😲🐂💩
Boy do they think we’re stupid.
Brandon said this is good because it means his climate change agenda is working....as planned.
Thanks, Bernstein.
Inflation is the result of too many dollars chasing too little goods.
The Democrats have flooded the nation with trillions of dollars and then they created shortages (by lock downs and enforcement of regulations).
Inflation is not an accident, it is a planned event.
Yet more daily evidence that the Disinformation Governance Board (Ministry of Truth) is alive & well.
Those who can, do, those who can’t, blame others.
Imagine a CEO or business manager who is hired to run a company and finds that the company was in deep trouble. Well, he was hired to help the company recover or succeed. But, that CEO or manager decides to blame his predecessors for the sorry state of the company, and has no plan to help the company succeed or recover. Would those who hired him decide to keep him onboard?
All that Biden does (and Obama did the same for years) is blame his predecessor or others. Yet, his predecessor had a very healthy economy, and Biden proceeded to ruin it, and has no idea how to fix things, or decides that he’s not going to fix things, or decides that his plans have been working, while also blaming others for the many things that are obviously going wrong. We are stuck with the blamer-in-chief for another 2 1/2 years. The company is going to ruins.
