According to a criminal complaint, three sex assault charges have been filed against a former Two Rivers High School teacher who admitted to having sex with a pupil.
Rebecca Kilps has been charged with three counts of felony sexual assault on a student by school personnel.
A school social worker phoned a detective on May 23 after receiving information regarding a pupil having a relationship with a teacher.
The detective received a call on May 24 from Rebecca Kilps’ husband, who said he had suspicions and had checked his wife’s phone while she was sleeping. He discovered texts in which Rebecca and the victim were “talking about a future together and stating they love each other.” He went up to her and challenged her. She stated that it was a student and that they had been friends before saying “I love you” and “talking sexually.”
The 17-year-old victim told the investigator that things had “gone too far” and that things had “gone terrible.” He described how he began taking her Freshman Spanish class and continued to do so over the years. He began hanging out in her classroom after school during his junior year. They began exchanging private messages. Things “escalated” in March, he added, and “we talked more and said things we shouldn’t have.”
The victim said they had sex twice at Kilps’ home.

Maybe he didn't want to get reamed in divorce court! Ever thought of that? Maybe there are minor children involved, and he doesn't want to share custody with this nut-job!
And the boy shoulda said he didn’t know a thing and clam up. But he’s young so I’ll give him a pass with a warning to not reoffend.
By then it was too late - the husband had certifiable text messages proving that the two had been "carrying on." In such a case, the boy's best option may have been to feign victimhood - otherwise, he might have been cited as "co-respondent" in the divorce proceedings and prosecuted for "alienation of affections." (To be fair, I'm reaching with that one.)
Poor lady chooses weak men.
I see nothing to criticize in the husband's actions - he's probably bracing himself for ugly divorce proceedings and doesn't want to lose his shirt to this female philanderer.
And, yeah: High school freshmen probably will not cut a particularly chivalrous figure under such circumstances. But what else would you expect?! Should he "sacrifice himself" for her?!

I think some of the judging of her looks are because if it was a male teacher that had sex with either a male or female student, we all expect him to look like a whack job sick POS.
The woman here appears so damn normal that it’s surprising and perhaps disappointing also.
Then factor in that she’s married.

She's been teaching him for at least three years. She could not have been a teacher when she was 19.

Sorry I saw someone say 22. Should have looked for myself. Was thinking the same thing and figuring she graduated early many now can start taking college courses before they get out of high school. I for one could not wait to get out of high school and wasn’t interested in going right into college classes. I graduated at 17..

Just saw 34. Changes things some. 14 or 15 and a 31 or 32 when it starts means she is a little off. But cute and when I was that age would have been tempting. Parents are probly not happy.

I taught in high school for a few years a very long time ago and know no incidents like this ever happening. However, I do remember some of these new teachers coming in looked younger than some of the high school kids.
