I spent 33 years in the military and foreign service. Nothing you think or hope is going to end this favorably for a divided Ukraine. Putin is doing what’s in Russia’s self interest. Meanwhile the DNC and Biden have lost credibility and are driving the West into a recession. Europe will have to Live With Russia, period. The Ukraine will only be in Donbas another week before last week’s 30,000 are finished off. Keep on rooting for the Ukraine but be prepared to be disappointed. Russia will get those areas important to them. It’s all over except for Biden and Z-linsky accepting the terms of peace, e.g., stay on the west side of the river.
Russia can't even take the Donbass and keeps changing their goals for something smaller after each failure. You do not know what you are talking about despite your 33 years.

Russia may “get” those areas. A thoroughly devastated, largely depopulated landscape. What a “win”. And, no way they can hold them with time (5-10 year scenario, 5 years for the Euro energy supply reset) without crippling costs to Russia. “The West” has nearly 40x the wealth to work with. Biden & Co. are NOT running this show, and even less so, soon enough.
Like some of their soldiers who are so weak they go nuts after 2 weeks without a woman, Russia’s “self-interest” will be its downfall. You claim you have 33 years experience. Pfft... I go by centuries of history.
